Or am I crazy? The last two submissions I've wanted to post have been .gif and they don't seem to work, kinda frustrating...

I noticed they weren't working either. Unfortunately I have no technical knowledge of this site,but I can assure you that it's not just a problem on your end.

Hmm, I just uploaded a gif and it works fine. But it's a small and simple gif. Maybe FA is having an issue with large gif files?

I was afraid that was the issue...it's just impossible to post large sequences anymore and I had thought gifs were the answer, dang...

There's hope it might be fixed sometime soon. For once FA seems to be changing for better, getting new features and fixing old bugs.

I've seen other people make posts with gifs recently that worked fine. Might be an error on uploading perhaps?

I think if the gif is too large FA's software tries to make it smaller which takes away the animation. I don't know what "too large" would be specifically.

You have to crush the file size down pretty small iirc

Yeah I feel you. Usually people will upload the gif with the additional link to the full resolution file in the description. Here's an example of one that I know works here though. Note that the file size is under 1 MB and the resolution is pretty low, something like 250x250
