Same, in fact, and I'm very underweight. I don't eat large meals though, and multivitamins have been something of a crutch, but I'm actually very healthy. There's nothing wrong with having light snacks throughout the day, as long as its not in great excess

I do eat large meals, but am also decently active. I don't drive at all, instead walking everywhere whenever I have anywhere to be. And even sometimes when watching TV or playing video games, I'll be standing up and sometimes even pacing a bit instead of sitting down.

You know... I was just leaving a post the other night about a technical question involving Star Trek.
See, they have this Holodeck technology. The debate was if holodeck food actually counted. Was it just trickery that gave the taste buds, nostrils and touch the illusion of eating and drinking or was it legit food in there?
I bet it's just imagination, which would be perfect here. Eat all you want, whatever you want. Never gain an ounce of weight. None of that sugary stuff that makes cavities, either. And if you do bite down too hard, there's a medical ward just an elevator trip away.
A shame that we only have VR. And that tries to fool the visual and audio senses.

Depending on how convincing the illusion is though, I imagine that could still come with its own risks. If the food is able to convince you that you're full, you may be less compelled to eat when you really need to. I know basically nothing about Star Trek though, so can't say. The only thing I even know about the Holodeck is that it's a thing that exists. And even that, I only know because I've seen it referenced in cartoons.

The holodeck is basically the evolution of television. One you interact with. Computer AI asks for a prompt or two and builds a world around you off of it, including NPC's. Then you live out a fantasy for a bit as the AI drives the fully functioning world around you. It uses force fields, lights, illusions and more to make everything feel real. It's basically multiple steps up from what George Lucas used for his Star Wars movies, where he had a whole room just wrapped in LCD monitors so that he could 'live' inside his virtual worlds while making his prequel movies. As in you can sit at a table in a holodeck restaurant, sip from a simulated glass filled with sim wine, cut up a sim T-Bone Steak while talking sweet nothings to your sim date. (And Lower Decks is the only Star Trek show low enough to state that people hop into sim beds with their sim dates and have sim-on-real sex.) One reason that nobody ever brings up if sim food making one feel full is a problem is because "supposedly" everyone checks out time for an hour between their real jobs and nobody lives inside these things. (Yea... right.)
Now, from what I hear, some of our real-life counterparts try to live inside virtual space through their VR Headsets to make their avatars exist in there for eighteen-plus hours a day... somehow. So I know that there would be many that... presuming they could just step inside of a room and live permanently at a Fur Con while escaping from reality, they would.
Also worth noting that in Star Trek, everyone just eats and drinks 'replicated' food and such. How that works is definitely gross. So, the show skims on the details. But the actual possession of real food is a true luxury.
Still, I bet that such a holo room could create the best delicacies known to exist... even if it is just make believe. (Or replicated. Never got an answer as to which it was.)

Now that I think about it, they were dreaming this stuff up in the 1970's. And now, fifty years later, here we are. Latest computers are creating virtual worlds with just a couple sentences of prompting. Supposedly, we have holograms of some sort. How long before some nerds put these two together? Can't eat that holo burger just yet, though...

I wonder if replicated foods is where Futurama got the idea for the one part where Fry is eating a sandwich while he's being told that EVERYTHING gets recycled. And one of the examples they bring up is that the sandwich he's eating is made from discarded sandwiches.

I believe that Futurama's notion of recycled food may be on par with modern day recycled food. As I am aware of here in California, there is now a law where stores that have expired food (like produce that has begun to mold) are required to send it into special facilities over just trashing it. In these places, professionals recycle the best parts of the ingredients into dishes that look delicious. Goes to homeless projects and such... as I understand it. So... recycled sandwiches are the tossed bits that get processed into new sandwiches.
Star Trek goes beyond that. They have so many hours of shows to work with that there is enough information available. First off, the official blue prints show that there is one physical restroom... and one toilet. Another hint is that the ship is self cleaning. (Yet, no Roombas running about.) And they have transporter technology so available, small and cheap that even single seat training ships have them. Dirty dishes come out of and go back into these replicators. Random discarded trinkets do the same. Today's dirty dish is tomorrow's Ice Cream Sundae. Though they never say it, seems the lack of rest rooms may also hint that yesterday's consumed lunch gets transported into tomorrow's dinners. The ship just auto cleans the crew to get some of its source material back.
Kind of makes BeStars discarding of terminated dangerous predators into the soil to grow super tasty veggies seem far more natural to me.

Understandable~~ I'm the same in a way. *totally not nomming on Aster's tummy right now* I'm stupid weak when it comes to savory snacks compared to sweets though. Like Umbreons~<3

I don't care as much for sweets, either. But I do love the convenience of a hard candy because of how long they last. And how easy it is to carry an extra in my pocket.

Maybe that's why Aster tastes so sweet? *kneads the Umbreon's tummy and rump softly*

That's the unfortunate side of sugary snacks. But they're sometimes the best snacks.
