Failure

The surgery cannot be performed as both of his eyes are too far gone to be repaired.
The vets recommended that we remove his eyes to improve his health, as his eye pressure sits at 50 (normal eye pressure for humans and dogs is around the 22-25 area with 30 being pushing the envelope).
My mother has recommended that we put him down to prevent his prolonged suffering, as even removing both eyes may improve his quality of living by a bit, but it would deteriorate once more.
And I am in agreement with her...

Making the decision to put down your animal is always a heart wrenching one. It'll never quite leave you but, at the very least, they will suffer no more.
