Just a minor opinion piece on gaming...

Whenever I see someone say that there are no good newer games, I assume one (or some mixture of) of 3 things.
1) You haven't looked hard enough, and may be waiting for something to 'fall in your lap', as it were.
2) You are largely apathetic to 'new games' in general and aren't going to be into them regardless.
3) You have a very specific taste in games in which new games are legitimately not scratching that itch.
Also, I am not a fan of the notion that "Back in the day all games were finished and developers worked with heart". Hindsight is picking up a lot of slack, but a lot of the issues of gaming nowadays are just more mainstream takes on issues games have had back then. Games bereft of creativity or games pushed out into the market too early or games churned out to make a buck have almost always been a thing. Some of it has 'gotten worse' over time, but some of it is simply gaming getting more mainstream, on top of games taking years to make now rather than months with larger staff in many cases.
And, finally, no, console exclusive games are not 'anti-consumer', it's competition (in most cases). Getting rid of it as a concept is just going to work towards homogenization and potentially lower game quality. Xbox had the weakest set of exclusive games and now people are saying MS is trying to drop out of consoles while they try to do their 'Xbox anywhere" thing. It's why there's less justification to buy a Sony system and why Nintendo had, generally, did well enough with hardware that is considered "outdated". PC is great and all but I'm not willing to throw away physical media for the convenience of some extra space (but this will depend on the person). I like PC as an option, but I prefer to use it alongside my consoles, not to replace them. And I say this as someone who has used PC as a major means of gaming in the past.
So, yeah.

Yeah, people do have some very simplistic takes with no nuance
