Do people care about traditional art?
I have been recently told that traditional is not even worth doing now, since people don't care and even won't buy it. I see digital everywhere, and maybe that's the reason I returned to traditional media. I have been doing digital art for years (not furry) and almost no art for 3 years. But now I just feel attached to all the tools and papers I have at my disposal. I even have a whole chest of drawers only for art tools and can't even fit all in.

I believe that traditional art is irreplaceable. You can't simulate it by any AI tools. The texture, smell etc.
I felt weird from digital too at the start, but I got used to it pretty fast, I guess it's just matter of habit. Still it feels a bit disconnected.
As for tutorials, fuck them. Find your system of learning. Tutorials often sound good only in the head of their creators. Everyone has their way of learning. Learn the program on your own pace. I just google where the certain function is, then use it-learn it. Trial and error ensures you get to know your own way. Persistence is the key.
Thanks for your comment !
I will definitely share finished pieces. However, I have many fast works in my sketchbook that are for my eyes only.Which is majority of what i draw.
Thanks for your opinion.
There’s something special about owning a piece that the artist physically touched.. where the brushstrokes, ink marks, or pencil marks are all directly from their hand. It feels like the artist's essence is embedded in it, also it's real and tangible. Even the best digital print, no matter how high the quality or how fancy the paper, is still ultimately a copy. It can’t capture that same intimacy or life that a traditional original piece holds, to me at least..
I think part of why some people gravitate away from traditional art is the cost... it often is more expensive, especially for highly detailed or large pieces. In that sense, traditional art can feel even more like a luxury purchase, whereas digital art is often more accessible price-wise even from the same artist. There's also the convenience factors some people gravitate towards, with digital art usually having faster turnaround times, and for people wanting something quick or are on a tight budget, that is a major plus to them.
But for me, the magic of traditional art is in its uniqueness, there is only one, and it holds the artist’s direct energy in a way that can never be exactly replicated, not even in a hq photo or scan. so i'll pay for that
I feel the same. The creation process of a piece feels more personal when i can touch it. I can see how my hand and pressure or amount of water, paint quality and other factors affect the results. You can put much more "mind" into it. But also find your cat's fur and brush fur all over XD
I am using digital art for my own gain. Now when I intend for some more refined art, I sketch the final sketch digitally. It's easier when I can flip canvas instantly, erase or transform things or draw over and over without destroying the paper. Then transfer the sketch on paper. When it's nice and clean it is much better than eraser disrupted surface. When i sketch to learn or just draw something for myself, i just do it on the paper, even if i have to redraw it several times. (that is basically 90% of art I make)
The price of the art tools is a factor, but really it depends. When I lived in czech, lots of the tools i used were crazy pricey and hard to get, some even had to order from abroad. Now in Poland, they got crazy amount of things to choose from for 1/3 price. There is a market for it so it is accessible. So I think this can play a major role which you choose. My tablet is professional and did cost some money, but it's one time purchase, so I feel the appeal.
