Actually it's fine
Herm was removed from the dropdown, but it's still a tag and can be added manually
No-one who self-identifies as herm is being silenced, and we're not being forced to identify as intersex either
We don't use the dropdowns anyway, everything is manually input (thanks Postybirb) so not being included in a drop-down does not feel like inequality to us.
Now, so long as FA does not go the route of e621 and in searches start showing results for "herm" as if we had searched "gynomorph", and start showing search results for "herm" as if we had searched "intersex" (because herm /=/ intersex and generally neither wants to be identified as the other because we are not the same), it should continue to be fine.

plus it is just that Chakat Species are Herm and most of the time would be tag in the drop down as Herm. Cause Chakats are not intersexed. They are Herms.
Based on my knowledge, the characters portrayed and described by the word "herm" are usually seen as possessing simultaneously functioning masculine and feminine reproductive anatomy. Intersex people, on another hand, as far as I am aware, have their sexual characteristics present in ways that do not fall neatly into the traditional categories of "male" or "female," but this does not mean that they possess the characteristics associated with "herm" characters either. To the best of my knowledge (which is at the moment unfortunately shallow), I am not aware of the existence of intersex people who possess the characteristics of a "herm" character, as the term is used in communities like this.
There is currently a discussion in the FA official Discord (in a thread under the Feedback channel) wherein intersex people have shared their experiences with the use of the term "herm" in this community, and their suggestion to use "dualsex" instead as a descriptor for characters with both masculine and feminine reproductive anatomy. I would advise anyone who wants to know more to read up more on what they have to say there, but in short, the history as I understand it from how it was presented there is this: the word "hermaphrodite" was originally used in a derogatory way against intersex people before it was applied by scientists to dualsexed organisms, and even now it is used incorrectly to refer to intersex people by those who mean to imply they are dualsex (either to demean them or due to a lack of understanding on intersex anatomy.)
Since it is a term that many intersex people today have painful associations with due to the harm that prejudice and lack of understanding has caused, it is suggested that an easy-to-understand, straightforward term be used to replace it in communities like this, in order to allow them to feel safer. It's important to note that they, and I, don't want to see our identities disappear. We just want to be able to express our identities in terms that don't hurt anyone or make them uncomfortable - and especially not to bring up painful memories of real and present bigotry and mistreatment.
Again, thank you for letting me know the difference. I always want to make sure that I never end up actually demeaning someone on their identity, even by accident. It's helpful for me to know about these types of things, even if I don't belong to that specific community.
