Look Alive.
Hey there everybody! I just want to say thank you for all the great attention I've been getting since I've started posting again, it's really been a great confidence booster ^^. Every fave/watch/and comment is super duper loved and I can't thank you all enough! It's helped me build up enough confidence to the point where I'm wanting to draw for others more and more. I'm in a pinch for a few extra dollars wherever I can get them (who isn't nowadays, shit's expensive) and so I'd love to try and draw for people! Even though I've got some lovely commissioners, I want to try to stick my neck out a little more and offer up some YCHs. Remember a few weeks ago I told you how I've got tons of unfinished sketches lying around that will realistically probably never get done? Well I'm a bit more resolute in my decision to try and offer them up for purchase. I liked the ideas when I drew them so I hope you guys do too! And I'll be posting those here in a little bit. Realistically, I'm hoping I can get around $200 so I can finish up some bills I need to pay, and each picture will only be around $40 or so dollars. They'll be flat rate, not an auction style YCH, so multiple pictures can be snagged. They'll be fully lined and fully shaded pieces, and I think that's a good price point. But I don't know, we'll see how things go when I expose it all for the people hehe xP. I've never tried doing YCHs before so I'm a bit nervous, but they seem to be a popular way for people to pick and choose what kind of pictures they want to see their characters in!
Besides that, life is going pretty good for me right now. I'm happy I've found a stable living situation, and my RL job is going well and provides a steady source of income, but you know, everybody kind of needs something else going on nowadays to make some extra dough. Whether it's multiple jobs or a side hustle. And I see this as a viable side hustle for me, I already sit down for untold hours of the day just drawing, so I'd love to use my skills to help make people smile and help them bring their characters to life! Even if they are filling pampers haha.
The mom situation took bad turn, I finally spoke with her again after our blowup, and just as I expected, she's unwilling to hear anything out despite any and all evidence shown to her. Narcissists really hate hearing bad things about themselves you know? So it hurts, but I can't let the hurt get to me anymore, and so thanks to all the love and support I've gotten from my mate, friends and family, and my own personal research, things get easier day by day.
On an unrelated note, I'm happy to see the changes happening here on FA! I'm happy I've been able to change my name, not that I disliked my old one, but it just didn't fit quite right anymore like it did when I first started my account. It's nice to see banner changes too, it's nice to see new art every once in while. There's other things that have been modified that I enjoy, but those are the biggest two that stand out to me, so I'm happy to see the administration team working hard to keep things fresh and new ^^. I hate that we lost Dragoneer along the way, but I'm glad to see those that were close to him continue his influence and legacy here. There's no place like home, and I consider FA to be the base of my operations so to speak heh. But I realize that it's important to spread out and post my pictures in other places so I can build a bigger support base, so I went ahead and made myself an account over on Bluesky. That seems to be the new furry hangout now that Twitter has gone to pot, and I made it a few months ago, but I've never made any serious moves on the platform until now. I'd love to post over there more, and share more pictures, finished or not, and I think it would be a great place to do so!
