Artists: identify yourself in your Paypal invoice!
I also use third-party forms to arrange for commissions.
And I understand, algorithms are scary and you don't want your Paypal account to get suspended even though your transaction is completely legal. 🙁
But if you don't have any links or notes between your form and your invoice, there's no way to know what this random invoice is for, that shows up in one's records.
Some artists now have queues that are longer than 30 days, which means that, three months later, a commissioner can get a random request for money from someone they don't know, with no notes about why they're asking for this money.
Some suggestions:
* At the end of the form, include the text, "Expect an invoice from M. Barrassing Realname soon!"
* In the invoice, put some kind of signifying text like "Re: your request from 31-Jun-2025"
Signed, someone who gets random requests from bots for money, all the time.

Nobody ever came forward, so I have assumed it was a phishing expedition..
And I've seen some artists with year long queues who were still accepting stuff.
