It really really depends on your confidence level!
If you do open them, make sure you are clear on what you would draw vs not draw.
Also, do not take many to begin with! Even just one or two I think is a fine enough starting point. Too many artists who open comms end up taking way more than they can realistically manage.
I do art for a living(almost 5 years full time) and I typically take on 10 per month, but that's because I built up my stamina and drawing habit so much over a decade I could handle it.
depends on your energy and tactics of pricing you'll take and how much styles you can offer or adapt, i'd say go for it to experience the freelance kind of work
