Some changes to some series

General
Well, I think I have a perfectionism problem. Not sure if it's born from some experiences, such as going back to edit old pieces of work to send to publishers (all rejected so far) and just by simply watching and reading good stuff, but I think i've developed an urge to produce the best thing from the get go. Something soundly planned, soundly executed and soundly thought... maybe with the impression of selling it or kickstarting a long running popular series. (speed is still an issue)
And yet that's a problem I seem to be running away from doing the planning because it isn't good enough or feel like it could be better. It's kinda what has me delaying or even considering scrapping some things that started as one-shots. Because of the need to 'expand and perfect'
Pieces at risk
Monsterism
Currently, i've had the Monster-ism story on the restart chopping block for a while. This is because I didn't exactly seemed to plan things ahead of time, and I haven't gotten around to plan it as well as i thought because, I kinda flee from that.
The idea of restarting with a more slimmed (maybe non taur) design for Jasper is tempting, just as much as I want to go ahead with the mermaid character as a soft reboot. I might probably work on concept pics and leave it to people's decision.
Comic writing and comic planning is still a new thing to me that i'm learning on the go.
(side note, I thank CZ_Imaginarium for the colorist work, but unfortunately, life got in the way for the time being. so now the position is vacant for now)
The asylum/Monster Continent
This one does bug me. Don't worry, i'm not gonna scrap the setting or the stories here. I'm just playing with the idea of retconning the character of Ciro (the one turned into a rat) out of the story or change him into something more useful (or larger, like a dog).
The thing is, I love the setting and the plans I have for it, but as I mulled over the idea of the next arc, I realized that Ciro doesn't really do much or won't do. While the original situation might've been interesting it's kinda there and I don't really like fading out characters (guess that's a problem as every character introduced does get interesting.)
I'm quite tempted to go back and either erase or tweak the form in one way or another.
Some say I dream big or am too ambitious. Think that's played against me.

Yeah, it's tough making these kinds of decisions - planning is hard, and even when you do it consciously things can still evolve in the process, take surprising turns, or hit unexpected roadblocks. It's good not to be too hasty in making changes - you can end up endlessly twiddling things for so long that you lose what you liked about it - but if you've given yourself a chance to think it over seriously, you shouldn't keep yourself from course-correcting. If rolling back for a re-work is what it takes to get your inspiration back and/or solve issues that made the original unworkable, that's far preferable to letting something you really do want to do languish on the drawing board.
