Thinking of making reboots

Sorry for the lack of posts... It's been trying times.
I think I mentioned in my last journal that I was balancing teaching a class that I wasn't prepared for and having a bit of a panic attack on that... I'm still worried about it, but now that the classes have begun things are at a more manageable pace. So I have some free time back to work.
In other good news, I also mentioned that I was a tad busy writing Whateley academy stories (kinda like my comfort food), and, just recently, I finished writing the next arc for the group, which has me probably set for the rest of the year. It's a matter of balancing here I have to learn (I haven't paused it because I want to write another story. but because I don't want to overburden the group and the editor).
The book thing so far doesn't appear to pan out, so I just need to focus on reapplying, but don't really feel confident about it after the rejection... and I can't deal with the self publishing. Doing this on my own is impossible.
The other problem I have is editing. I've been doing it for my works and the publishing thing for the Golden Wolf cleanup, my whateley stories and now the first story of the Monster continent series, which might be burning out my energies.

But anyway. So now that I'm a bit more at ease, what do I do?
Right now, the thing that's in my head, is to remake, retcon and reboot some things. As I said, i was editing the first story of the Monster Continent series because of the little issue I had with the Ciro character. Feels like that should improve things, so be on the lookout for updated versions.
Stories like Monsterism and Temple boon are also in my mind, wanting to reboot them right in one way or form (or refocus). Specially because I like the setups and think I should at least have the arcs and dialogs prepared beforehand.
But it's the matter of choices and focus that hampers me. I mean I'm constantly wondering 'what's better' without actually committing or doing so and immediately backtracking. I tend to fall in love with some of the things I do and end up expanding on them in ill-prepared ways (most of my works feel like that) to the point this has led to me secondguessing myself, throwing in there the want to make money from them (while also not wanting the paywall method) it's become somewhat easy to avoid this by just focusing on Whateley stories, where I have a general outline of what i want.
Well, there's also the thought of making a discord server for both patrons and nonpatrons, wondering who would be interested in dropping by and say 'hi'. I'm not that great of a community manager.

So yeah, that's where I'm at. I hope to get back on things and have much better things to share with everyone..

As far as needing to prepare XYZ ahead of time, though, he definitely had some good advice: preparation is good, and a certain amount of it is essential, but leave yourself room to flex. While it is possible to veer off-course to an extent that the only thing you can do is go back, and there can be other factors that necessitate a re-think (I understand where you're coming from on "Monsterism" and the protagonist's character design,) it's just a fact of life that sometimes you never see really good ideas 'til they suddenly present themselves partway in, and it's not helpful to treat your first (or second) draft as holy writ such that you can't change things to accomodate better ideas when they do show up. Adjusting course on the fly isn't something that should be undertaken lightly, but it's something that you should allow yourself to do, if the new idea makes enough of a case for itself.
In any case, looking forward to seeing what you come up with, and can't wait to get back to "Monsterism" in particular =^_^=
