Life update
So this has been one very eventful week. I normally don't share too much personal information here, but after everything I just want to let it out.
For those of you who didn't know, my first born had a quick and smooth delivery. While my second born is strong and healthy thankfully, my experience was not so smooth this time.
My son was born on Tuesday August 12th (We share birthdays so that's really cool!) During the practice pushing I started crowning and had to wait several minutes for the midwife to enter the room. She was told beforehand that I was going to start pushing, but took a phone call when it was time for her to be there. I ended up hemorrhaging. While it wasn't enough blood loss to need a blood transfusion, there was enough loss for the nurses to keep a watchful eye. While I was holding my son as they cleaned him, making sure his air way was good, etc I over heard the nurses say my placenta was placed in the wrong bin (This will come into play later on.) I didn't think anything of it at the time as I was so focused on bonding with my son as I'm being stitched up. There were small tears during the delivery. Throughout the night I passed several golf ball sized blood clots. By Wednesday morning my bleeding had slowed and I was allowed to go home. I passed another blood clot at home Thursday morning and was told to return to the hospital if it happened again.
It did not, and for the next few days I felt good. I actually felt like I was healing faster than my first time until 3 AM Monday morning. I began running a fever and having contractions and severe back pain. I went back to the hospital and after some tests were ran the nurses started acting strange. One wanted to sign my consent forms for me, which was crazy. Of course I declined and requested she not return to my room. Several other nurses dodged my husband's and my questions claiming that there was "debris" in my uterus that was making my body go into 100% contraction mode and that I needed surgery to have it removed. The surgery took place on the 19th, and afterwards the nurses were still dodging questions until one nurse said that the debris was left over placenta that was rotting. Afterwards we called the OB explaining everything, who confirmed that placenta was the only thing it could have been and was shocked to hear about the placenta being tossed in the wrong bin, telling us it was never properly checked afterwards. (Which was something I didn't know they did.)
I was sent home a few hours after the surgery, and so far I've been feeling so much better. To say my husband is beyond pissed about everything is an understatement. He has been very supportive as I've rested. With that said, I probably won't be responding to any messages for a few more days as I'm getting use to the new normal with two special little ones.

I hope your family can relax now and enjoy quality time with your newborn <3
