I've been seeing headlines on YT about the latest Windows 11 update breaking SSDs. I'm avoiding plugging mine in.

Thankfully I don't have win11, but it's an old seagate and they don't have the best reputation..

damn I'm sorry to hear that : ( I lost all my photos and files in 2022 when I broke my laptop like an idiot. I replaced the hard drive with an ssd but the old hard drive was completely toast

still hang onto it, there may be a way to extract the files. if not now, someday maybe. are you sure its not the cord?

It's so so sad. I'm a major data hoarder and it has so much cool stuff from over the years on it I'm gonna be bummed about. I wish I could at least get a text file with everything on it to go hunting again. I'm lucky my foobar playlists have my music collection listed for reference, but my actual own music I made will be gone.
