Eternal Fugitive Schedule Update
Dear readers of Eternal Fugitive,
I want to inform you that I've made the decision to drop the monthly schedule and instead publish new chapters whenever they're ready.
I'm sorry to probably disappoint some of you but completing chapters on time has proven to be rather difficult for me.
In an ideal world I would easily be able to write a chapter in about three weeks (even during lecture/work weeks) and then have a week to spare for e.g. drawing, but my apparent lack of creative drive (both for drawing and writing) is causing a severe wasting of time.
It's not that I don't have ideas, I just struggle to actually work on them. This has plagued me for over a year now so I wouldn't call it art block, burn out, or anything. But at least I can report that I've made some successful steps to slowly get more creative drive; it's something, I guess. (If you have any tips that could help with that, feel free to comment them!)
Sometimes this makes me feel like a fraud, i.e. "how am I an artist if I can barely even idly doodle to spend time?" But that's not what this journal is about.
The decision to forego the schedule also stems from me wanting to have more time to work on drawings.
With the schedule I had to start a new chapter as soon as the previous one was finished, which left me no time to do other creative work (especially when real life got in the way) (though, again, in an ideal world this wouldn't be an issue). Now I plan to, more or less, alternate between writing a chapter and then drawing something (not even necessarily a major piece).
However, I intend tohopefully not have more than two months between chapters!
Additionally, if things actually go well for once, there may even be less than a month between chapters.
And I assure you that I won't stop writing Eternal Fugitive anytime soon! It will just take a bit longer.

Thank you for understanding!
(FYI: Chapters 0 to 8 were pre-produced from before I even published the first chapter which is how I managed to publish those on time. Chapters 9 and 10 were written in the month before their publication.)
FA+

just have fun ϡ
But thank you for accepting nonetheless.
I think writing for the sake of a rigid release date is never worth it.
I'll be looking forward to the next chapter, no matter when you release it ^^
And I'm someone who doesn't like abandoning things, so when I start something I will finish it before starting on something new (I only sometimes interrupt projects to work on something that is time sensitive). I literally don't have any unfinished, abandoned works.
And while it's true that a rigid schedule may lead to a rushed release, it may, on the other hand, also motivate to work the project at all. (Though, I guess in this case the schedule has failed for the latter purpose.)
But thank you for the kind words nonetheless! :)
Perhaps just not everyone is created with the blurp-things-onto-paper as their default idling thing. Mine's brew-things-in-mind. Also all the anxiety. Also, oh look a squirrel!
..ahem. What it might be trying to mean.. you are an artist as long as you value creating things.
Maybe creative intention just needs some brewing time, like a nice cup of tea. Let it steep ^^
There are many ideas for Eternal Fugitive and drawings in general that I've lost to time (despite occasionally also noting them down). I (currently) have more ideas than ability to put them to paper.
I love creating. It's the most fun and fulfilling thing I usually have, yet I struggle to actually do it. Even if it's just doodling, hence why I wish I could and would just idly do it.
Because, for me, it feels like a pivotal and foundational thing. With many projects, both big and doodles, I have the thought "I can't do it!" (even though I know I can), but when I actually doodle I start thinking "I can do it!", which then also motivates me to work on the big projects.
Though, overall, the major issue is then keeping that motivation for long enough and actually working on anything for longer than 10 minutes.
But that may also just be AD(H)D or something...But, nonetheless, I appreciate your words. :)
Not sure if I ever found my answer, though. Just yapping.
A new creation from a memorable artist is always appreciated, never "late" for art ^^. I hope so, at least.
Ultimately, it's probably just being distracted way too easily.
But that is a pattern that needs adapting. Of more immediate use, perhaps, is thinking of the various creatures out here Watching for the next instalment~ ^^ [flic]
(because apparently that boredom has to be quenched by other things). And "thinking of the various creatures out here watching for the next installment" is "thinking of the various creatures I've disappointed by letting them wait too long".Still, thank you for the words. :)
