Commissions are Open for Business! (Finally!)
General
I didn't originally intend to keep them closed for as long as I did, but it took longer than expected to get through my old waitlist. I still have a couple things left I need to finish up, but I'm ready to reopen now regardless!
I haven't thrown together a new graphic yet, but you can see my new prices here!
Instructions and guidelines for how to commission me can be found here.
I'm no longer working with an infinite waitlist, so I'm going to give folks a few days to come up with their ideas before selecting which ones I choose to work on.
If you already contacted me about commissions during my hiatus, you will still have to fill out my form so I know you're still interested; I won't contact you first. It also doesn't give you priority over other submissions.
I've had a lot of time to rethink how I deal with commissions, so here are some changes that I've made:
- I've raised my prices. My goal is $30/hr.
- I reworked the way I charge for comics, and also added a premade page layout option, which is a bit cheaper than a fully custom comic.
- I'm not offering fully rendered artwork as a tier anymore-- It always took me wayyyy longer than I anticipated. The tiers I'm now offering are Sketch, Lineart, Flat color, and Full color. Full color is a bit nicer than what my "simple shading" tier used to (or was originally intended to) be, but not as detailed as it was in the past.
- I am now officially offering reference sheets as a commission option!
- I'm no longer working with an infinite waitlist. As a commissioner it's annoying to have to wait 6 months to get a comm, and it's stressful for me to have 20+ commissions on my to-do list. I don't plan to work with a specific number of slots, but my plan is to close them before I get overwhelmed.
- I no longer charge extra for certain types of content. Instead, I'm just going to be pickier about what commissions I accept, unless my current workload is light.
- I reworked my TOS. I shortened it a bit, and added an FAQ section to cover some information that you don't have to know but might want to know. Hopefully that will make folks more likely to actually read the important stuff!
If you have any questions or feedback, feel free to let me know! The best place to contact me is discord (@mkiiiconvertible.) I will do my best to respond promptly.
