Borderlands 4

I'm sorry, Gearbox. You slapped me around with the first game. I tolerated number two. I failed the Pre-Sequel and number three. I even gave Tales from the Borderlands a chance, and it was all for naught.
I've come back to you too many times, and each time you just hurt me. So, I'm sorry, but I can't trust you on this one.
Not for $70 anyway...

2 was a departure from everything that made 1 stand out. I mean, most of the game is spent in snow or grass, which does not shout "Borderland wastes" to me. Also, they overemphasized the story aspect. We went from "looking for a quick buck" to "save the planet".
Make sense?
Aside from that, I can understand.
I beaten Borderlands 2 on the Vita (I'm used to PowerPoint framerates because I beaten Vanilla Skyrim on the PS3 several times), but I didn't like it as much as BL1 because aside from performance issues from the Vita port, the jokes are in-your-face, guns feel more like toys instead of actual guns, and the scaling sucks so much that not only do guns last a few levels (or even less), you NEED to Slag EVERY SINGLE ENEMY in UVHM, meaning your builds are more restricted so they can use Slag, and combat feels like a complete slog to endure.
I can't comment much on the other games because I haven't played them yet, but I heard that BL4 has a more grounded narrative that's similar to BL1, which is a plus for me. However, the performance issues there SUCK. Also, screw Pitchford for being the greasiest of the grease pits.
NO WAY ANOTHER VITA USER????? OWO
-# i don't play borderlands tho, i'm just excited cus vita users are rare. we gotta stick together x3
...Remember when the humor was a dry as the Pandoran desert, and the entire point was hunting a Vault that may or may not even exist? Now everyone and their grandmother has had a Vault or two in the cupboard all along, and they went from being the most important thing to.. side content you don't even have to engage with at all. No, really, you can play all of BL4 and never even step foot in one.
Plus doesn't help that Randy Greaseford spoils anything he touches.
Maybe is a blessing in disguise that we never got a new Brothers in Arms game after Hell's Highway.
That's a pass here.
