How did you get hacked?!?

I got duped. The artist Trias got hacked, I didn't realize they got hacked, the hacker tricked me into "playing a game" (god, I'm fucking dumb), and that's how I got hacked.

... and people wonder why I don't reply to sus discord messages.

To be fair, I currently have a bad case of the common cold, and a fever. I really wasn't thinking straight. Still, good on you for keeping your guard up.

I treat any message from someone that I don't know as sus. Paranoid? Sure, if you are far more trusting of your fellow man. Prudent? Also yes.

Thing is, the message came from someone I know, I just didn't realize that they had also had their account hacked.

All I can say is to just keep this in mind to protect yourself:

> if they say they "accidentally reported you", it's a scammer
> if they say they want you to try out a game, it's a scammer
> if they ask if you have alt. accounts, it's a scammer
> same with dA asking if they want your pictures to be in murals or anything similar

Just block'em. Find the original artist if you can on dA/FA and get in touch with them.

The hacker sent me some emails, but as I have come to figure out, they come from a stolen email address. The real owner seems pretty distraught about having their gmail hacked.

Yup: e-mail, Steam, Discord, Telegram, you name it. They'll come looking for those and take over.

It's been 3 years since mine so maybe Discord acts a lot swifter than it used to be. Steam and Google solved my problem in less than a day or two. Discord....... kept me on hold for 4-5 months so I have a very anti-Discord stance. It's really why I've fallen behind on commissions and why the stuff we did took so long.

No. Scammers are taking over my Discord and my other email right now thanks to them. They pretended to be a Discord staff member and trick me.

Yeah, the hacker tried to approach me about trying out a game. I almost fell for it, but luckily, I was busy driving home at the time, so I had time to think about how strange it was.

I was too tired and fever-ridden to think clearly.
