A few days away
Right now silence has fallen over the woods. It's interrupted every now and then by rain falling on the roof of my vacation home.
I've got a few days to myself, got a few things to do but most of all a lot of relaxing. Somehow, whenever I' here I'm at peace.
And I needed it.
So much for the poetic opening. Have you ever heard of solo roleplaying? Like Dungeons and Dragons, but then on your own?
Before I got to play D&D I tried soloing it on a few occasions. It never went well. Now that I've got a few years of D&D under my belt I gave it another shot.
And it was a huge succes. Solo RPG may sound sad, as if one has no friends, but it's not like that at all. It's a great opportunity to try out other settings, other characters or other aspects of your main PCs. My first session was with simpler rules (Tiny Dungeon v1) and a set of Fate/Fudge dice. As I said, I had a ball.
As FA also support writing I might take my OCs for a spin in various settings. I can place them in my 'universe', but also in whatever the setting I want as the spaceship has two holographic simulators. It would be very fun to throw them in the world of 'Vice & Violence' a NSFW TTRPG. It's super funny and the artwork is great. But it's a good exercise to flesh out my OCs a bit more. Show of the differences in character.
Or perhaps play a session with Dew, using the James Bond: Playing in her majesty's secret service' system. That flexible camel has some sick martial arts moves (hence why she is security officer on the ship), but where has she learnt that? What she a secret agent? Assassin? Or...
Oh, and Inktober is coming up. Looks like the prompts are much better this year. I'd love to get back to Inktober again. So I will probably do less drawing here next month. Inktober is always a good exercise. Every time I participate I end it better than I started. And it's fun of course.
That's it for now! I'm going to listen to the acorns and pinecones falling on my roof. Autumn will be here soon!
