Today they're holding a memorial service for Charlie Kirk at State Farm Stadium in Arizona. As many as around 100,000 people or more are expected to attend. Trump, Vance, and various members od Trump's cabinet will be spealing.
While I understand how and why people loved him so much, he was in fact objectively a vile, reactionary, and hateful bigot. I find all of this glorification of him appalling.

I've already heard some folks refer to this as the Drumpf regime's Reichstag fire.
And I work with journalists in the fandom. There's literal nazifurs (not just fascist furs, I mean, antisemites who think Hitler was right), there's furs who murder animals for pleasure, there's furs who doxx other furs over disagreements, there's literally child rapists hidden in our fandom, and some people coddle them for just being 'good artists', and there's furries who assault others. Almost all of these are right leaning furries... So spare me the 'we're always peaceful' bullshit. This has been a problem since I've joined the fandom nearly 30 years ago. People just refuse to acknowledge the negatives of our fandom because they think they'll be lumped in with it due to media bullshitery and groupthink.
And I'm sick and fucking tired of hearing people say that the far left is more of a threat than the far right.
All that does is show their ignorance or attempts to gaslight.

I find it hard to believe that he doesn't know her. Given his constant online presence and obsession with television, he must have at least heard of her at some point. As the President of the United States, he has numerous advisors keeping him informed about events happening across the country. Therefore, I think he was merely feigning ignorance about Melissa to convey that he doesn't care about the left. This is a vile man.

It's so funny that everyone is acting like his death is such a horrible thing when, by his own words, we should be looking at it as a "needed sacrifice" and shouldn't even care about it.
