Weekly Update! (2025-10-26) That Old Halloween Thing

Hey there poxpeeps!
Alright, it’s the last week before Halloween! We’ve got a lot to do around the house, so my only streaming this week will be on Monday to try and wrap up the two items I have on my backlog. If I don’t get those done on Monday, I might follow up with a short stream on Tuesday and/or Wednesday in order to polish those off, but I really want to take the week to get packing and have things ready to go on Saturday.
We’re going to be literally moving out on Samhain, so like… everything’s got a time table. (Luckily, we’ll have the week to transfer things between places, because we won’t need to be out of here until the 7th, so that’ll give us time to clean and shuttle things without having to do a big, stressful one time move thing.)
I don’t know when I’ll be available again, but I’m hoping to aim for the 16th of November or so, just to give myself time to settle in and get everything set up and make sure it all works.
Happy day, though, today is the final page of Chapter 6 of Various Happenings! Go check it out! I am so happy to finally have gotten here and I hope you’ve enjoyed it thus far.
I’ve already got Chapter 7 outlined and mostly scripted. I’m going to be really working hard in the future to get them out at a more regular pace, which means not going as hard on each individual page. They won’t be as artistically impressive as things have been in the past, but I hope spending more time on just moving the story along and only drawing what matters (or what I want the audience to notice) will pay off with more story more often in the future.
Things haven’t been easy over the last decade, but I promised I’d stick with this until the end, and I fully intend to realize Cass and Eddie’s story (as well as Clara’s adventures), because I feel like the world needs this stuff now more than ever.
There will, however, be a bit of a break naturally. I want to make sure that my expenses are in the black, and that means paying back what I owe my roomies as well as future proofing my accounts from big expenses in the coming year like the hosting in January and my taxes in April.
Thus, I’m going to be doing a big commission push starting in mid-November to get my finances in-line. It will be the primary focus (aside from member voting for clean-ups and such, which I will be doing as a decompression thing) and I will keep everybody in loop with how the studio is doing. This will also include more merch testing and hopefully the release of the first official prints and bookmarks to help with the funds.
Once that’s done, I will be bulling-in on the Sophie comic with Azure, at least to get up to the point where things have been written thus far. I’m very happy with progress so far and I want to see it through. It’s been far too long already.
Once that’s done, we’ll be shifting our focus to The Adventures of Clara Cosmos, and be working through until the end of the first part of Episode 1. I don’t know how many strips that’s going to be, but I’m estimating somewhere around twenty or thirty more before we get to a good place to take a break.
After that, I’ve got something I’m working on as a community project with Azure (as well as Lei Bunsen) and we’ll see how that organizes as we get closer to it being ready to show off. Then we’ll be hitting Various Happenings Chapter 7 as hard as I can.
Of course, there will be a lot of overlap and me dipping into future projects to distract myself from getting too burnt out on whatever I’m currently doing, as usual, so that means that my other settings won’t be left out in the cold, but I’m trying to build a solid plan and solid release order for things. Hopefully getting a bunch of comics ready will enable them to run while I’m working on other things so that there won’t be these massive gaps anymore. That’s the hope at least.
So yeah, things are going to be busy. Busier than usual. But I’m hoping that at the end of it, everything comes out better than it was to begin with, and we can finally leave the shadow of my previous burnouts behind. I’m hoping that we’ll finally be where we can look forward to where we’re going, instead of just trying to catch up to the things that left us behind.
So, thanks for sticking around, everyone. It means a ton to me, and I hope that the stuff that I’ve got coming up in the future will be enjoyable for everyone (and if not everything for everyone, at least everyone will find something to enjoy. That’s my hope.)
You all have a Happy Halloween, and a Blessed Samhain. We head into the dark of the witches’ new year, embracing the turning of the wheel once again, biding our time under the leaves and snow for the day when we can spring up once more.
