Happy Halloween!
Have a safe and happy Halloween everyone! It's cold and windy here today, so I'll be staying indoors today, the same way I did yesterday as it rained all day. Walnutport had it's Trick-Or-Treat night on Wednesday, October twenty-ninth. I have no idea why Walnutport and Slatington both have theirs two days before Halloween every year, but we don't get anyone here at our house anyway. This year I didn't buy a lot of candy. I had originally just bought one package of Reese's Pumpkins (six pack), but I did end up also picking up a bag of Snickers as Tom likes those too. Tonight will mostly be watching horror movies and enjoying candy. I think I'll get a pizza for dinner tonight. Tom said something about suiting up tonight, but we'll see what time he gets home from helping out at the Lorah Farm.

Lehighton did the same thing (last Wednesday of the month) up until a year or two ago. I think last year was the first year in decades when they moved it to Halloween.

I go to Lehighton for Walmart, Aldi, and when necessary, LVHN Carbon. I'm glad that Lehighton now celebrates Halloween on the actual day.

Eight houses on my street. Only three giving out candy. Less than ten kids making the rounds. No wonder Trunk or Treat events are getting to be more common.

The main reason no one comes here is because it's in a rural area, and there are two trailer parks nearby (Heritage Village and Mountain View). The kids that do trick-or-treat get driven to those two places and get plenty of candy. Becky's Drive-In does Trunk-or-Treat twice every October and many families go. Many parents see it as a lot safer for their kids. I am glad that I grew up in a time when trick-or-treating was fun and adventurous!
