Not a fan because it prices out people who can’t afford the higher autobuys. I once did AB1 on a piece only for someone to then AB2 a couple of hours later which is just a really shit feeling.

I think if you honour the first AB, then that's fine, gives people the chance to pay what they can afford so it doesn't always go to whoever has the biggest wallet.

Same think happened to me multiple times, I've honestly skipped out on some I've really liked the second I saw there was multiple autobuys because of this.

I personally don't like the 2 different AB auctions, it's Auto Buy in the first place, and does feel really bad when on person offers the AB2 after someone has already offered AB1 price. Not expecting no one else would be able to offer more since it's Automatically yours, at least that's how I would think. But that's just me, really depends on if you allow people to "Own" something even after someone else has already put money down for it. I know it's an artist-by-artist basis on if they allow AB's to be bought out from one another, and comes down to if you allow AB's to be bought out if it's more money or not, regardless of price, even if it's hours after AB1 has been bought out. But it is an auction and people SHOULD expect their price to be possibly bought out if they aren't willing to put more money than other people are willing to offer, and having at most just 1 AB that verifies that you get that slot is better. Even if it's the same price as what would be considered AB2 price-wise makes the auction more competitive than having 2 exit points that only one works in someone else's favor even after you reached the "Exit"

I would say if you were to have 1 AB, you could have it be the price of an AB2 price, and when the auction reaches a certain price and threshold, you can say (For example: "If the bid reaches (Insert price here) you will receive that NSFW + Mawshot") And if the bid DOES reach the full AB price, you can say that they get that full reference bonus. Meaning that can be the end of the auction, instead of sort of giving a false hope of "I offered for the AB1, but now I'm worried someone will offer AB2, even with it being an Automatic buy, right?". Then no one feels like they were misled into bidding for an AB that can be outbid anyways.
But that's just what I've seen from other artist that I personally think is more fair and makes people want to bid more. That they are getting extra than what they might have previously not thought about before. I know it does for me thinking if I do get to a certain threshold and am in the position to offer as much, that I'll be getting more (i.e the NSFW + Mawshot) additions. But still have the ability to AB fully out for the Full reference if I so felt the push to and not be stressed of someone taking that "Win"

Yes, when "autobuy" isn't technically an option, it feels terrible, and I see other artists exploit it too often. I was thinking of trying a system with multiple ABs, in reverse, to increase adoption rates, and therefore implement a different, more fair rule: the auction ends immediately, regardless of whether the bid was AB1 or AB2. Would this be more fair from your point of view?

I personally think so yeah, you can always say that you can increase the price of the AB for the sake of competition between people offering, but if someone REALLY wants something, then they can feel more obligated to outbid everyone and buyout the auction with the AB. Make it more expensive than you might think so people don't IMMEDIATELY use the AB, but also promote competition between people that are just putting spare money into something that they are interested in receiving possibly. And if they have money to offer and REALLY wants the adopt, they can rationalize paying a little more to offer the AB as a last resort of said auction. Sure it'll feel bad for other people in the auction, but it'd feel more fair since the person was willing to put more money than anyone else. instead of giving a false-win like with 2 AB's

I personally agree that it's unfair to ab1 and then get outbid by ab2 cause you simply couldn't afford that much but still clearly want it enough to ab, literally as you describe it I feel the exact same about it, I agree.

I think whoever AB's first, is the winner. That seems like the fairest option! Having the choice is nice too.
