PAYPAL PSA: DO NOT USE "Comm" or "Commission" on invoices
5 days ago
Hello all,
Like the subject title says, avoid using "comm" or "commission" in your invoice remarks when doing PayPal transactions. I've been hearing reports from other NSFW artists that PayPal has been banning their accounts for it because they're starting to realize those remarks are referring to payment for drawing potentially explicit art.

its like you LOVE being picked on and playing victim just to get likes or something
That's textbook doomerism alright.
Seems like Paypal isn't getting the memo, and they might be at risk.
Wait, this is going to discrimination lawsuit territory, isn't it?
I've also been inclined to believe that Paypal is cracking down on money launderers using their services, but the fact that NSFW stuff has been caught in the crosshairs due to "high-risk" is a dumb excuse to say the least. Seems like PayPal is just straight up incompetent and paranoid.
Honestly, I'd say you're better off finding a 2nd best option or two to avoid stuff like this in the future. I'd honestly rather find alternatives that at least work when needed, rather than spend the energy crying about it and expecting everyone else to "join the noise" in hopes that it magically changes things.
Some companies simply won't listen, so customers leave since they're not satisfied, thus losing the money they care about. Alternatives make it much easier to avoid using them.
Sometimes leaving the comments thing blank also would brick the recepiant account.
Leave that thing BLANK.
