Picarto and FA should really not matter... I am not sure how referral links for that work really.
But if you have a backlog of clean, safe-for-work portraits to show, it makes it easier to claim that you are using KoFi for clean, wholesome stuff.

And since you probably have a few years of em, you can post one per month to show "See, activity!" as well without really much extra effort on your side.

You can't LINK to it, because they'll know where the traffic is coming from, but.. if someone just happens to type in the URL and get to your kofi page, then it will appear to come from nowhere, right?

As long as someone knows what to type in! Perhaps by seeing it on a screen somewhere.

Yeah. Was about to say this as well, since I've seen artist with Linktrees and Carrds and whatnot, as well as fanfic authors with discord servers linking to their server and having a Patreon link in their starting channel.

Maybe - but I have to imagine that the website where people end up after clicking that shortened link would still see that the traffic was coming from picarto or FA, which is what you're trying to avoid.

A work around to this is in Picarto, whispering the link to people or using FA notes should be fine, since the webcrawlers cant access notes or see whispers on Picarto.
That is what I do and I havent had issues

ho certain are you about the whole inability to track the referrer form picartos whispers?
cause the chat runs on a picarto server on a picarto url.
same for FA notes they are handled within the same domain and hence a referrer also goes out from the same domain.

i admit i only have basic knowledge of how the internet works but that's how it looks to me. Only because they cant directly follow the link to a target website doesn't mean its no longer attached to the shunned websites.

Crawlers can't access EVERYTHING, only publicly available pages.
Ko-fi doesnt have furaffinity black listed, just content it doesnt like (fetish, bdsm, porn, non-con, etc you can find in their tos)

Part of the detection in these things isn't finding the posted link with a webcrawler, but because HTTP requests will include information about where the link was clicked. So if someone were to post a link to Kofi in these comments and I clicked on it, Kofi would know that I clicked the link on the page "https://www.furaffinity.net/journal/11249104/";.

Exactly! That's why I think it would work if people just had to type it in themselves, so there's no info of having clicked it on a certain page.

It is common practice for websites to add 'rel="noreferrer nofollow"' to outgoing links in user-editable text, meaning browsers won't send a 'Referrer' header. Both FA and Picarto do this, you can check yourself with your browser's devtools.

Even if they get the url from a persons' note because they clicked a link through the note, whoever reviews the links(because I imagine it is manually done, otherwise they wouldn't be banning people the way they are) still cant read the information on the page because it requires them to be logged in to the specific accounts to view the notes.

Again, they dont have FA itself blacklisted, just are against certain content, and if they find a link that goes back to a page that has things they're against, thats when they ban.
