I never wanted to make an announcement like this, but now that I have the chance, I can. Tokito has crossed the rainbow bridge and is no longer with us.

We don't know what happened, but we think it may have been a stroke. With it being late in the night, a holiday with no places open, and frankly, no way to get him to an emergency vet, River and I held him in our arms until the end. We're taking him to the vet first thing in the morning to get his remains properly handled.

Thank you so much to everyone who made taking care of him possible. It really looked like he was out of the woods, but it was just his time to go.

I am most likely not going to be able to respond to anything right away as we take time for ourself during this. Once again, thank you all for loving Tokito just as much as we did. It means the world to us, and it meant the world to him.
