ART THIEF WARNING

A fair warning to my fellow artists out there. Be careful being friends with someone who usually goes by the screen name “Dewott” or “Dewottreborn”. The man’s an art and character thief.
Back in September he made an art for my birthday of my Meowstic, Andrea, bound in a latex sack thing. Which I did enjoy for what it was at first, but the more I looked at it the more oddly familiar it felt. Until finally it clicked and I realized he had traced an art from the artist Charly Sparks and tried to pass it off as his own. I also came to the conclusion that a LOT of his recent arts are traced after doing some digging. I confronted him about this and cut ties with him, asking him to never use my characters ever again.
Well today I find out that he had put Andrea into a sort of AI chat/rp bot without my permission after all this went down. Something he did “because he was heated at the time”. I was raw when first discovering this but decided to test it first to see if it’s just a coincidence and he just used her in the thumbnail. The personality is all wrong (Andrea is a tomboy at heart and a bit of a tsundere) but the AI recognized the female Meowstic as Andrea on its own after simply asking for a name.
So yea at this point he has become the only person I have ever blocked because I cannot trust him. He has proven himself to be an impulsive person who steals art and uses characters without permission even after being told directly not to. And I honestly highly recommend any artist to do the same
Bellow is proof of my claims. First is the art he “made” for my birthday back in September. Next is the art by Charly he traced along with me overlaying the two to show it is a trace without a doubt. After that is the aforementioned bot I found with my character Andrea in the thumbnail as well as a small test I did to make sure that it was actually her he had put into this thing. (Which again he made without my permission after I told him directly to never use her again in anything)

Damn...I've known that guy for years but I always assumed he was just using free bases for his gallery or posting drawings he commissioned from artists. I never expected he'd stoop so low.
