Journal rating...

General
This kinda stresses me out.
It opens the door for people to start MEGA policing language and subject.
I have a better idea. STOP LETTING MINORS HAVE FA ACCOUNTS.
Or like, let me just mark my whole account as adult only?
This is pressure, man.
Edit: This is also going to open the door for minors to start reporting journals because teens kinda suck.

FA+

I just find it odd that they are even allowed here.
Like it or not (and let me be clear: this is a big issue to me, the mixing of adult content and minors in spaces like this, with 18+ content allowed and fetish content being posted as "general" because "it's just feet" or whatever), the site already had allowances for "general audience" and "mature" content, so being able to mark journals as places where adult discussion is gonna happen, was something FA needed to put in place.
It's not going to fix people being naughty in G-rated journals and pics, but that issue is already normalized here via the rating system for submissions. It's not going to fix language policing, but same again - that's nothing new. This discomfort is real and a problem, but I don't think adding this feature for journals opens a new door.
I honestly think it closes a door instead.
You already had this problem. Every journal you posted, that tone policing and reporting was able to happen because all of them were treated as G-rated. Now that you can mark them as Adult, you basically get what you wanted: no minors in here, no chance to be reported for naughty talk in general audience spaces.
It doesn't fix the core issue of the lines that have blurred between adult and minor content/spaces, but it does band-aid a real issue of not being able to keep minors out of journals regardless of the topic of conversation.
this is not a joke, nor a bit
The real solution would be for FA to have actual good moderation, impartial staff, and effective policies and practices to keep minors off-site, but haha.
I also believe that viewing porn never hurt anybody. At least it never hurt me. And I saw some pretty hardcoe shit when I was a kid. And this was long before the internet.
On the other hand, I know at least one person who's always wanted to be able to post adult stories. Now she can.
Like **** me, I am LOUD and LOOSE with my wordage and now I need to start giving my journals mature ratings on top of what I need for my image posts?
Da **** ?!
