Why is FA's classic look still supperior?

I must be an old fogey or something, but I didn't really care for the modern design of FA a while back and I tried the Modern Retro style for a bit as well and didn't like it either. With the classic look everything more plain jane, but way easier to understand. I had to figure out where everything was relocated and a lot of it was pretty asinine. Also I noticed that you don't get previews of the couple previous and next pieces underneath the piece you're currently looking at, and that sucks.
