Is FA on the edge?
General
I noticed low activity on this website in the last 2 years. Less uploaded art, less people communicating, same faces every time, barely any new users. More empty accounts.
What went wrong? I do remember this place like this when I joined 15 years ago, but back then this website was fresh and still was growing.
A lot of users I used to talk to are no more and nowhere to be found "deleted accounts"
It's painful to say, but this place is all I have really, so not planning to leave.

FA+

My backlog to upload is huge but I take more time to upload and curate here then on bluesky
Also don't know about "ton" part. I look at paw and vore content and it barely moves in the line
Mix that with the amount of vitriol for people like us and it's a recipe for taking a break from the internet
Some artists I know actually made good money on art and just decided to leave? Now that's weird
discord/telegram/etc. seem more appealing nowadays, I guess
It does suck that people barely talk here tho
Not everyone can adapt to the new UI, and I keep seeing journals that say that FA uploading system sucks so they move to the websites that have it better - usually meaning something like BS or Twitter.
What is also affecting people is that FA did that "no more big images for you until you pay" thing. I used to be able to upload very big things, and now I can't do that and I don't have any other places besides maybe Discord where I put them - but like, my Discord is private. And I don't have enough money for a subscription, even if it's not much.
So users who were posting big comics or big images in general are also slowly leaving because they can't do it anymore. I am very frustrated with this because now I can't even EDIT my big uploads.
I understand that servers are not free, but I genuinely think that it would have been better to do it some other way, maybe get rid of the banners or something.
But like, I can upload things that that on FA get squashed and I can't do SHIT about it anymore
It really takes a lot of the experience on here, and when the classic UI will be gone, probably so will I
(If there's a flaw in what I said please educate me, I'm still relearning all this and want to get back to art and story posting)
A lot of things I do are very... well... how to put that... not welcome on websites like artsation, I'm afraid.
There's no "flaws" in what you said, it could be a strategy for some, but we sadly have to take in mind the fact that most people brush over whole pieces, let alone thumbnails. I used to post cropped versions of my NSFW artwork before, with a link to my Patreon, nobody went there.I don't think it would work now.
If your drawings are smaller than the resolution limit, I don't think you will have any trouble.
It's a shame about filesize limits - even discord keeps shrinking the share size - everything I share has to go through google these days, which makes me glad I made a dupe anon email before they locked up that ability.
It looks like not just websites are cutting filesize limits, but even online translators - I have to work with DeepL very often, and it used to be 5k symbols per translatioon limit and now it's just 1500 unless you register/log in, what isn't always a viable option.
Nice that you managed to find a good solution for your sharing problem! I use Google too, for sharing especially big images or transparent ones...
My personal opinion is that social media has its place, but nothing beats an actual art gallery site, where the art itself is naturally the main focus, and it's much easier to browse through an artist's works.
Itaku (and the Sofurry update, but SF is currently down) have the best system, a gallery site, but they both have feeds for text posts
I understand why artists like other socials such as X or Blusky, but personally, they suck as a gallery site for watching artists. Especially if you ever want to go back and look at older stuff.
I still see quite a bit of new vore posting here, but not a lot of new artists joining. I see some, but certainly not at the rates we used to see in the past.
There just doesn't seem to be the energy as there used to be, but then it seems to be like that all over. Maybe the excitement and newness has all given way to complacency.
Having a gallery site such as FA, which caters to furry art, creates a sense of comradery, where people share the same kinks. It makes things feel more comfortable.
I kind of feel sorry for the younger generation just discovering furry art and FA. Less views. Less Favs. Less comments. They are missing out on so much of what was amazing about the past.
On the other hand I saw people coming and leaving for last 20 years.
Still it has more users than any other furry website as far as I know.
But it hurts how much it resists modernization xD
FA may be a lil' slower than before but it's still a massive place with heaps of uploads happening.
I saw your art on WL with Hard Vore & Feets focus.
Your Scalie is so cute. *feet tickle* <3
Many reasons of inactive/deleted Accounts.
Post-Vore-Scat & Snuff artists I follow are religious now or loose motivations to draw porn or are depressive/mental issues or are stalked/harass.
Others said FA have Zero Neural tolerance and acceptance.
Some Artists are less respectful and tolerant and going personal and judge about you, kinks and fetishes, like feet.
Worst of all - if you own a IB Account they call you Pedo, no matter you create no Underages and use the Gallery for Backups.
I am not so often online on FA, I lose motivation more and more to post and create Content.
Other User upload often Art what they like and want to share, unfortunate they never ask for permission like on all Boorus.
Arts I gave in order for Furry Fandom only was repost without my permission on many Art sites (even non Furry Fandom).
