20 (TWENTY!) years on FA

You read it right - I created my account on December 11th, 2005. My earliest submission is #2808 (I think we're up to like 63 million now).
I can't remember if that was right before the site went down for a whole year, or just after it came back up again. But either way, it's a bloody long time!
I marked this one on the calendar a while back, but I didn't really plan anything special to mark the occasion. So, I dunno... comment with an early memory about FA?

- The majority of furry art back then was still sketched (and inked, sometimes coloured) on paper and then scanned in.
- I was so desperate to create art despite having no drawing ability, so I traced over photos of myself in Paint Shop Pro and kept on tweaking the bezier curves until I got close to what I wanted.
- Early FA seemed to be almost exclusively fatfur and inflation art.
- At launch, you could customise your profile banner. I think it took them about 17 years to bring this feature back.
- I commissioned over 200 images simply by reading journals on FA and contacting artists when they announced that they were open. How come hardly anyone does that nowadays? *shakes cane*
2) MS Paint for me lol. Got really good at the curve tool and dithering.
3) As was the case for most things, it was a safe space for niche stuff.
4) Took me a while to even figure out my avatar lol

And the crashes, so many crashes back then. Sometimes I want FA to crash for the nostalgia of how it used to be. But it's good that it doesn't, especially for the sanity of the site administrators.
