Hey there, everyone. How’s it poppin’?
Yeah. I know. It’s been about a month since I wrote an update. It was supposed to be weekly updates on my Patreon and Ko-Fi, after all. So, what happened?
Partly because of laziness and partly because of apathy. At times, it felt like only a tenth of my followers came here to read my stories. Now, don’t get me wrong. I’m happy that you folks enjoy the pictures I’ve commissioned. I only hoped that interest in my writings would follow. It doesn’t help that, in various Discord groups, it feels like a pin could drop whenever I shared a story or asked for advice/opinions.
Even so, I know I should give you folks consistent updates. I’ll do my best to do better, but no promises.
On the writing side, I’ve managed to complete a draft for the first part of The Pokémon Prometheus 3. I’m open to feedback, specifically for folks to spot any plot issues and inconsistencies. I plan to share the Google Docs link on my Patreon for Followers (paid and unpaid). I’ve also published a short story that I hoped would be accepted into a collection, but it wasn’t. Of course, it’s not selling well. I only sold two copies on Amazon Kindle. That’s the issue I run into when publishing to sites overrun by AI-generated slop. Before you ask, I haven’t shared it because it has my real name, which I wanted to keep separate from my online accounts. I’m far from able to earn an independent living out of writing, after all. Still, if you want to check it out, I’ll DM you the story.
Now, for house progress. It’s been going on the slow end, I admit. Partly, it’s because several of the pieces got rusted and we needed to remove them. Partly, it’s because of trying to understand what the blueprints are saying. I admit that it’s like trying to assemble a massive Bionicle toy, though a lot heavier and having specific details on different pages. Like how the ‘joints’ get together on the last few pages. It doesn’t help that the connector plates were vague, causing Dad to contact them for more specific details on which plate is for which job.
As for work, some days were peaceful, and others were rough. It’s life. And while I would like to blow up on the stressful days, I know that I need to keep it together. I need to keep on moving. Otherwise, I’ll get left behind. And, honestly, if I didn’t have that half-decade of a writing drought, perhaps I would be in a better position now. So, I must keep moving forward.
Finally, I’ll leave it with telling a tale from years ago. Back in my original house, outdoor and stray cats liked to take care of their kittens in the bush next to the front door. Once, there were three kittens that my elder sister wanted to take care of. She left out food for them, which became a daily thing.
The problem was how it attracted strays and outdoor cats from all over the neighborhood. Pretty soon, she wasn’t just feeding the kittens and the cats we already have (both indoor cats), but a lot more. It doesn’t help that, because the other cats were a lot bigger, the kittens weren’t able to get what they needed.
By the end, which I believed was within two to three weeks of when she began, something scared the cats away. I’m still not sure what that something is; it may be a dog for all I know. All we know is that there was a bunch of loose fur in the front yard when I came home, and three kittens without a mother. As a result, we took them in.
Life is odd like that.
In any case, I hope you all have a good day!
P.S.
I’ll be sharing another journal soon.
