~Milachu's Journal~ Heya there~
Just wanna do another lil check-in. More updates on:
- the state of my projects & what I plan to work on
- what I’m thinking of working on
- any other updates
- and let any of you all ask open-ended questions you’d like me to answer.
— Projects & Plans —
Getting settled into my new place was more awkward than expected, so I ended up focusing on making the animation more than the dungeon comic. I tend to gravitate to one particular project and focus hard on that one thing when my life gets really busy. However, as a result, I now have the next animation fully finished, posted for subs, and a teaser trailer up on my Twitter, Bluesky, and public Discord server!
As for the next animation, I already think I know what it will be - a music video. I've always wanted to make one of those. It will be both lewd and funny, with lyrics. It's gonna use this one song I heard years ago and have wanted to make a music video for ever since. I'll probably start work on that after I work on the dungeon comic some more.
Speaking of that comic, Down in the Dungeon is my top priority right now in terms of work. I should have more pages going public before February.
And on the topic of comics, I am dedicating more time to writing the Pushing my Buttons comic lately. I plan to spend about 3 days each week for writing the story. My resolution for 2026 is to finish the writing and at least start drawing this comic. I am hoping that if I stick to writing the story 3 days each week, I should be drawing it by March.
I sold this really nice YCH in early December and I'm really proud of how that one turned out! I have another YCH I plan to sell sometime soon. I currently plan to open up bidding for that around the end of this month.

I am late writing this journal like the last one, but I am still here to write it and give you all updates!
One idea I've had bouncing around in my head for a while is to make all new comprehensive ref sheets for my main four characters (Mila, Lantha, Milo, and Buttons). I like the idea of an all-in-one ref sheet that shows how I draw them, the colors I use, key features, physical stats, backstory, and a little bit about who they are, what they like, maybe what bothers them, how they spend their time, their personal weaknesses, and what they enjoy doing. This way, all a person needs to do to get an idea of the character is to review this one image.
— General Updates —
My family finally left, and now I'm at my new place with room to breathe. But still, I kept drawing and drawing every day, because it's all I could really do while they were staying with me. I was drawing from sunrise to sunset. It wasn't until the 23rd of December that I stopped. I spun out and crashed, as I expected. I've been constantly going Going GOING in order to move out, get rid of all my junk, fly to Colombia, and get settled in to a new place, all while learning more Spanish, and continuing my art projects and commissions as best as I could. I was bound to hit a wall eventually. This is largely why I didn't write a journal until now.
All is fine though. I spent the past week or so just relaxing. I had to fix my sleep schedule; it was really bad, and it was negatively affecting my mental health. For roughly the past 5 days, I've started going to bed around 10:30pm and waking up at 7am, then going on a walk first thing in the morning. I definitely feel an improvement. At first, I was really tired all day long, but at least my mental health got better. Now I'm not as tired every day anymore. I have more energy and I'm feeling good. I'm ready to get back to a more productive schedule that won't burn me out.
Oh, and belated Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to you! Thanks for reading these~

FA+

1. About the all in one ref sheet, how small can you draw to fit everything on one canvas, including all the information you want to put in?
2. About art, when you draw, if you need to re-size a line but it becomes a bit blurry when you stretch pixels, do you fix it when you draw line art or redraw the sketch over that one line?
3. Do you prefer having multiple OCs or having one sona with a bunch of form? I like having multiple ocs cause if I had a one oc with a different form, I feel like I have to make it work
4. About colors, when you use something dark but you have dark lines, do you try to use a lighter shade of dark so it isn’t a big blob or no?
Thats all I have for now. Happy Belated Holidays
1. I was worried the drawings would be pretty small, but I've already started making one and they're not terribly small. It's hard to guess a good relative size, but I'm probably comfortable with each full-body view of a character taking up about 10-15% or so of the canvas before it's too small for me.
2. For sketches, I pretty much never worry about blurry lines unless it becomes hard for me to determine what I'm drawing, since I do usually rely on the line art to be the final version of all lines. My sketch lines are naturally messy, so one line looking slightly blurry is thankfully not an issue most of the time~
3. I like having multiple characters! I started out just using Milachu back in 2012. I thought it would be more fun to have variety, so I created Lantha to have a different design and personality. I enjoy seeing my characters with all their different personalities interact. :3
4. Yeah, sometimes I will adjust flat colors to be less dark or less light. I try not to let anything get too close to pure white or black, since I usually need black for bold lines and white for shines and highlights.
Happy belated to you as well~
