Convention aftermath

An Old Fox's life
Yep, Here I am going on 66 and still working Anime Conventions. Well, one these days. I used to do several and even a Fur con over the years. Age and Retirement and lack of money has reduced it to two cons. Then Covid hit and I stopped doing Animefest, I had been doing it for many years. It was by far the largest con I did other than Ushi-Con in the 3rd and 5th years or so when we topped 5k and 3k. Do to health and Covid I stopped doing Animefest. I had worked Registration for years including being a Supervisor for years. I believe Covid lead to the demise of the con overall. It was sad seeing their Con equipment up for auction not long ago.
Ushi-Con was my introduction and mainstay for Anime cons for years. I was there at the beginning and even the planning of the convention. Year two I took over Registration and have been the Reg Head since. Its been 25 years and its still an enjoyable convention to attend since its an Adult orientated convention. 18 and up. We learned that sadly kids tend to be issues with damages and more. Trust me I have handled more than my share of Irate parents at the first few Ushi's over their kids and demands and issues they caused. Reg seems to be the place to come and complain. And, Laughs I am the oldest Con staff and have been since day one.
Ushi-Con is an Austin Convention. Anime is its roots and plenty of neat stuff happens like us bringing in Japanese Artists or Voice actors. Having American voice actors and more. Plenty of events and Cosplay and our famous Pub Crawl. Its easy to find us on the web and a Search of Ushi- Con brings up our site and former Cons and more. I have been providing the computers for the Video rooms for a few years now. Normally I bring 4 with me My Main Reg computer and two for the video rooms. Plus one spare. Last year we had to use the spare. Apparently the computer got banged a bunch and the mother board went kaboom. These days the computers are much smaller as in ITX or Mini ATX format and the cases are more like little suitcases that are easy to carry. Plus the 4 monitors. 3 are sudo donations from my former good friends estate. They are DVI imput ones but they work fine and getting conversion cables was cheaper then buying more monitors.
Look for Updates to One of my stories soon! I had are made already for it.
