What Is Telegram Like?

Hi everyone, hope you're not feeling terribly stressed out there. With the current state of the digital world going utterly mad, due to several rotten eggs, who think THEY ought to write the path for everyone, only to make quick dollars, due to being non-persons, I am considering other outlets to go onto, as a "scraping of the barrel's bottom" as it were. Yes, I refer to the issue with Discord.
I've been thinking about Telegram, and potentially Stoat. However, I heard Stoat is having crashing issues, since SO MANY people are flocking to it as a Discord alternative. Granted stoat's team is doing its best to compensate.
I've been getting conflicting reports, that Discord won't bother with ID Age nonsense, if your typing seems adult or mature, so they may just leave you be. However, some say that if you just leave your date of birth on your profile settings, they will leave you alone too. Not really sure what to believe but then again that started since I was 12 years old and got worse by the year, so go figure.
For those of you whom may have been long-time members and maybe still are, what is Telegram like? I know its full of scammers, but if you stick with a circle of people in personal messages or chat system, its "okay"? Is it even worth it?

'Course I've never really used Telegram's voice chat options so I can't speak for that personally
And I wish I could comment on how well Stoat works, but I haven't been able to make a profile there
If Discord was split into different app variants that are based on IP address, then the variants in the countries affected by those new safety laws wouldn't be needed in the US or anywhere else, and nobody in other countries besides the two aforementioned ones would be complaining.
As for alternatives, like everyone else is bailing to instead of riding the wave to see where it ends up going at the least, I don't think any options currently are gonna ever be *quite* the same as Discord so you're gonna be lacking one feature or another you've grown used to on the platform, just letting you know.
If parents don’t wanna raise their kids and take responsibility and guide them (so their job due to giving birth), they shouldn’t have “done the deed” and had kids at all.
I’m honestly waiting and hesitant, because of the waves of people screwing up the alternative platforms (Stoat crashes a lot or so i heard because they cannot handle everyone). Teamspeak is ancient, surprised it isn’t extinct like it should be.
There is support for channels and even voice and video, but it's a really clunky mobile first interface and has poor discovery. Also ngl I find the updates to be really cringe constantly advertising features that incentivize influencers, NFTs and other junk no one actually uses telegram for.
Snake food if anything.
Telegram is OK for one on ones as mentioned earlier, but I honestly cant stand being on a platform that is literally how some terror groups conduct their operations. I’m not kidding. On the flip side it is also where some governments inform their people of current ongoings (ukraine is an example) so it’s complicated.
Either way it personally gives me an ick that makes my account pretty dusty. And yah the influencer/nft shit they focused on is cringe too
