Questionairre meme... 3, I think?
Another questionnaire from Ulario Gryphon's journal. Eighty questions this time! :p
1. What does your FurAffinity name mean and why?
LordEon? Well, Eon Squirrel is both my fursona and one of the lead characters in my webcomic. At some point in the comic's story (back in 2003, I think) Eon received the title "Lord", officially when he was betrothed to a Princess, but unofficially because I had retconned the character to be more cat than squirrel, with some fox thrown in, and the surname "Squirrel" was confusing, despite still being the character's official surname. I used "Lord Eon" instead of "Eon Squirrel" on online communities I joined after that time if just "Eon" was unavailable.
I'm a lot less hung up about the whole "Squirrel" surname these days, but for a while, even in my comic, I avoided referring to the character using that name in case someone incorrectly assumed that because he's called "Squirrel", that must be the species he belongs to.
2. What fandom were you obsessed with when you joined and what are you into now?
I found out about this place through 2 Sense, which was a furry podcast, and I wanted a place to showcase my art to a furry audience, so I guess that would make it the furry fandom.
3. How many watchers do you have now?
29. A paltry sum, I know, but I appreciate them all. I hope to gain more.
4. Name 3 of your favorite artists on FA.
MissMab, MocHi, and skippywallaby.
5. Do you comment, fav, or both?
I comment more often than I used to. I feel that if I like a piece of art enough, the least I can do is say so. I do fave art occasionally, but it has to be something I really like for that.
6. Do you participate in clubs' contests here on FA?
I don't.
7. What is your most popular submission?
In terms of sheer views, 'The Beauty of Nature' is the most popular. I wonder if it has anything to do with the naked fox girl in it?
In terms of favourites, 'The Beauty of Nature' above shares the top spot with my most recent drawing 'Dawn Blackpaw' and 'Trippie'.
In terms of the number of comments, 'Darryl Fennec, Capt.' and 'Eon & Katsuni' share the most popular spot.
8. What are your favorite non-anime TV shows?
This question almost seems to assume that my favourite TV shows would be animé. I think my favourite TV series at the moment is Doctor Who, followed by Babylon 5 and The West Wing.
9. What are the things you wish you could draw better?
Backgrounds, scenery, and machines. However, the issue may soon be resolved for artificial scenery (cities, inside of buildings, etc.) and machines, since I've started using Google SketchUp to help with those.
10. Summer or winter?
Summer is miserably hot and I have hayfever. Winter is cold and dark. Can't I pick spring?
I love spring, with the new leaves just coming out, the blossom on the trees, daisies in the grass, birds singing, animals fucking. The last four springs I spent at the University of Stirling and it was always nice to see the baby animals appearing all over the sprawling university campus.
11. Rain or Sun?
Sun, so long as it's not too hot. I welcome torrential rain and thunderstorms in the height of summer, however.
12. What's your favorite type of music?
I don't have a favourite type. I have music I like and music I don't like. The type is largely irrelevant.
13. PC or Mac?
PC, but only because I've grown up with one. I respect Mac's for their movie and sound editing capabilities, but I don't have any interest in having one for personal use.
14. Anime or Manga?
Either will do. Both are just likely to be terrible with the occasional possibility of yielding something good.
15. Coke or Pepsi?
Coke. I don't despise Pepsi and I'll take it if it's the only stuff available (or it's cheaper and I'm feeling tight), but I prefer Coke.
16. Read or TV?
I'm going to say read. I don't watch much TV and the TV I do watch tends to be series on DVD boxsets, not TV as it's broadcast. The only real exceptions are Doctor Who and the occasional late night episode of Family Guy on BBC3.
However, I almost always have a book I'm reading.
17. How many hours a day do you spend on FA?
I'm on an off periodically while I'm on the computer, which means all day, pretty much, right now. But I couldn't quantify the exact number of hours I spend here each day. It varies.
18. Name a hidden talent.
I'm rather talented with my voice. I can't sing well, but I can do a range of voices and impressions that I'm told can be rather convincing. I don't know if I have what it would take to be a voice actor, but that would be awesome if I did.
19. Flash or traditional cartoons?
Ninety-nine percent of both are crap. Occasionally you'll find something impressive from either camp, however. Bit of an Apples and Oranges comparison really though, since flash movies tend to be geared exclusively towards humour, whereas traditional animation covers a much broader range. A better comparison would have been traditional animation or CGI.
20. What is your favorite fast food restaurant?
Does Pizza the Hutt count as Fast Food? If not, I guess I'll say McDonald's.
21. What are your top 3 favorite books?
'The Lord of the Rings', 'Watership Down', and... I'm afraid I can't name a specific third.
22. Wii or Playstation?
False dichotomy. There is a third and even a fourth possible answer here: Xbox 360 and PC. Personally, I use the Xbox 360, but out of the choices offered, I'd going with Playstation. The Wii is a good party console, but it's not much fun for single player gaming.
23. Name 3 of your favorite bands/singers.
Tarja Turunen, Queen, and once more I fail to name a third one. To be fair, very few bands or artists can impress me enough with more than one or two songs for me to give them an abnormally large amount of attention.
24. Are you a fast, slow, or medium typist?
I've been tested and, apparently, my rate is above average. And I type one-handed, typically with one or two fingers, unless I have need of the shift key.
25. Do you like Denny's?
We don't have Denny's in Britain, but I know enough about them to avoid them like the plague when I get around to visiting the United States.
26. What is your favorite smiley?
By sheer usage, :3
27. What is your favorite type of pie?
Steak and kidney pie, the way my mother cooks it and the way my grandmother cooked it before her. I really ought to learn how to cook it myself some day.
28. Have you ever stayed up for 24 hours?
Yes, quite a few times, actually. The first was in 2006 during my last week at Stirling at the end of first year after my exams were over and I had a whole week where I was absolutely free to do as I pleased.
The next couple of times were during Star Trek Nights with a couple of friends during the seven-to-eight week winter vacation in 2007 and 2008. Essentially, these nights were an attempt to watch all ten Star Trek movies in succession.
Unfortunately, the first attempt in 2007 was sabotaged when my friend decided to start the attempt by showing me about half of season 4 of Enterprise before we got onto Star Trek: The Motion Picture. He was sound asleep by the time we reached Star Trek V: The Final Frontier and, no, not because it's arguably the worst of the TOS era movies (though it's got stiff competition from the long, boring, extremely dated special effects showcase that is Star Trek: The Motion Picture). The second attempt in 2008 was a success, however, with all ten movies watched in around about 22 hours.
Last winter, the epic DVD Night wasn't nearly as epic, since we just watched the first four Rocky movies. I was up for Rocky V and Rocky Balboa, but my two friends were weren't. Light weights. :p
29. Do you go on YouTube a lot?
I don't make a habit of it, no. But I find myself there an awful lot because of friends spamming my IM's with YouTube links.
30. Are you a member on any other sites besides FA?
If "sites" extends to internet forums, then yes, many. If it's just sites like this the only a few. I'm an active member on very few sites, however.
31. Do you cosplay?
No. I've only ever dressed up once and that was for a fancy dress party. I went as a Parisian, because it required almost no effort.
32. Fruits or sweets?
Sweets, easily.
33. Buttered, plain, or salted popcorn?
Buttered, I suppose. I prefer it with sugar or toffee, mind you.
34. Have you skipped school?
Not in any sense that "skipped" might conceivably mean, no.
35. Have you been on a plane?
Yes! I love flying! Take offs are awesome. :3
36. Have you swam in an ocean?
Only the Atlantic Ocean. I've swam in the Mediterranean, but that is technically and inlet of the Atlantic and it's a sea anyway.
37. Have you been ice skating?
No. I've worn ice skates and I've been on a ice rink, but I've never approached what anyone could call "ice skating". Plenty of slipping over uncontrollably though.
38. Favorite vacation spot?
Cornwall is nice.
39. Ever been on TV?
Not that I know of.
40. Favorite salad and dressing?
Eww.
41. What do you do to relax?
I do my (sprite) comic, I draw, I play videogames, I read, I watch movies, I sleep.
42. What is the last film you saw in the theater?
Sherlock Holmes. It was freakin' awesome. :3
43. Favorite Sandwich?
The open steak sandwich, the way it's served at a nice little pseudo Tex-Mex resturant in Stirling called Longhorn's. It's a toasted baguette sliced in half and spread with mayonnaise with strips of grilled steak and onions on top, served with fries and salad. It is my absolute favourite lunchtime dish at any restaurant, to say nothing of my favourite sandwich. And I'm going to have one (or two, maybe three) next week! It's making me hungry just thinking about it... >.>
44. If you could go anywhere in the world...
Canada and New Zealand.
45. Favorite time of the day?
Dawn. At university, when I was free to do so, I'd sometimes stay up late enough for it to start getting light outside and go for a walk to watch the sun rise. I liked that time of day (in early summer, particularly), because it was a quiet time of the day before many other people were up and about. I could take myself for a walk around the university campus in peace without meeting anyone. It was a good time to think and get some fresh morning air while it was still relatively cool.
46. What did you want to be when you were little?
For a long time, a comic book artist. Well, in some respects, I got my wish. I do make a comic, it just isn't hand drawn... yet. I hope to remedy that, however, by improving my art, so my childhood dream may yet come true. But it will never be something I make a living off.
47. What do you want to be now?
I'd like to become a philosophy lecturer, if at all possible.
48. If you could eat with one person, who would it be?
Right now? My mate. <3
49. What character would you hate to be stuck in a room with?
Mudflap and Skids from Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen. You know, those grotesque Autobot cars who probably don't have a single IQ point between them and have got way too much screen time in a movie that's already horrendous enough without them?
50. When is your birthday?
April 16.
51. Favorite type of ice cream?
Mint chocolate chip, typically. It's a holiday favourite of mine, especially if I'm in Cornwall. However, I've also developed a deep fondness for Mackie's of Scotland's vanilla flavour.
52. Last book you read?
'The Greatest Show on Earth: The Evidence for Evolution', by Richard Dawkins. A truly fascinating read.
53. Which store would you max out a credit card at?
Forbidden Planet.
54. Do you buy / sell / both on eBay?
I bought a couple of items on eBay, but that was a long time ago now.
55. What is the most annoying thing people ask you?
I'm not sure I can think of any one question that really annoys me enough to stand out.
56. Favorite all time movie?
The Lord of the Rings. The complete trilogy, all 10 hours and 48 minutes of it (I haven't watched any of the theatrical versions since I got the three extended editions). Not only is a visual masterpiece with a stellar cast who truly bring the characters to life, but no other movie can move me on an emotional level in quite the same way this trilogy does, particularly in The Return of the King. No, it isn't perfect and I do have my complaints, but I think Peter Jackson and his team did the best job anyone could have done of adapting a book like 'The Lord of the Rings' for the big screen.
A close second is Star Wars. No, not the original trilogy. All of it. The complete six-movie saga. I don't much care what you Lucas bashers think. I love it. Sure, it has its flaws, but they don't ruin the experience for me.
57. What was your favorite show when you were a kid?
The Transformers.
58. What are you listening to right now?
The quiet hum of my computer and the clatter of my fingers on the keyboard.
59. What is the last thing you ate?
Meatballs.
60. If you were a crayon what color would you be?
Blue.
61. What is the first thing you notice about the opposite sex?
Their face... most probably the eyes.
62. Favorite sport to play?
Pool. It's the only sport I ever kick any arse at.
63. Favorite Day of the Year?
I really like Christmas Day. But I don't think I could name a favourite day of the year per se.
64. Hugs or Kisses?
I enjoy both, but I think I like hugging more.
65. Vanilla or Chocolate?
Depends on the ice cream.
66. Favorite Board Game?
I haven't played a boardgame in years, but I guess I'll go with Monopoly.
67. Favorite smells?
The smell of rain in the spring... and the smell of my mate.
68. What inspires you?
Too many things to list. I draw inspiration from everywhere.
69. Do you have any piercings?
No.
70. How many siblings do you have?
I have one older sister.
71. Bacon Bits or croutons?
Can I have both?
72. Favorite Day of the Week?
I don't know that I have one at present. But at university, I loved Wednesdays because Wednesday was the day my mate and I always went out to have lunch together. And Saturday nights were good too, because that was when she and I would watch DVD's and cuddle at my place. And Monday was awesome because me and several of my friends, plus my mate if she could make it, would all go and have a great time at the Bad Boy Pub Quiz at the Med just off the campus. We didn't always win--thoughwe never did worse than third or fourth place-- but it didn't matter. It was fun.
73. Favorite phrase?
"Sexy awesome".
74. Favorite Restaurant?
Already answered that one. Longhorn's in Stirling. Excellent food, excellent prices, and very friendly staff. What more could a student want?
75. Favorite animal?
I love dogs. I can't see a dog without smiling. I've grown up with them, so they make me happy.
76. Favorite thing to do outside?
I like nothing more than to find a high place and just admire the view. If I have my camera handy, I like to capture the moment on film... well, digital card..
77. Favorite thing to do when it's raining?
Not be outside.
78. Favorite Disney character?
I don't think I have one.
79. Do you like coffee?
Mocha is nice, but coffee isn't something I drink often.
80. Tag 3 people
No. I'm sure if anyone wants to do this meme too, they will.

Already answered that one. Longhorn's in Stirling. Excellent food, excellent prices, and very friendly staff. What more could a student want?
