Three weeks is quick by some repairs standards...it's stupid how long they can take.

I know someone whose laptop had a piece of RAM die shortly after purchase, sent it in to get fixed since it was free, under warranty...six weeks later, it comes back. Really? You couldn't just put a new piece in, it had to take six weeks? Lol.

I can sorta relate to it in my case that it could take longer. The HDD was fried, and since it's a Packard Bell machine, it had to be sent back to Acer. The way they provide Windows is to install it directly to the hard disk and sending a Windows 7 upgrade DVD along with it, so the OS can't be copied illegally. That's what I think, at least...
So it wasn't just replacing the HDD, they also had to reinstall the OS as well.

I'm just glad I didn't have to pay a dime, god bless warranties
