If it's any consolation, the pain will pass, and you'll probably be better or stronger for it months from now. I was once in that position and.. yeah, I know the sting of it. It hurts. I don't think this place is necessarily an escape though. It can turn into one, but it doesn't need to be. The friendships that develop here can certainly be real, despite what some of the unnecessarily cynical people on FA will say.

All of this.. is part of me, so I don't see it as an escape, especially since I don't turn to it to avoid everything else.
There can be a balance.

as bad as it is true, Pain is a part of life. the challenge is to move past it, with the help of friends and family. true, this cyber reality is not what most consider real, but so many connections are made through it, and so many of them are important and valuable connections. this place... this reality... this net... this space, whatever you wish to name it, is part of life as well. not an escape, but a tool. a method of help, be it minor or major. you always have friends here, Z. always. *hugs the fox softly*

I agree that pain is a part of life. And you're right, so many connections do come from the net. But nothing should be taken for more than what it is...

I believed in the impossible so much that I began to lose sight of what IS real, what my life really is. Some of you may not use FA as a way to escape or even the net. But I do. I use it to help relieve the stress of the real world.
