Ok well I have a shindaiwa huge trimmer http://www.shindaiwa.com/sng/en/pro.....rims/ah230.php and it sucked the air filter clean into the engine... Never in my life had this happen. It stalled the moment this happened and had a horrible burning smell. I pulled it apart to find a clean carb and the entire 2 or 3 in air filter had been chewed up and partially melted to the inside of the engine. The lower end had bits and chunks of filter all over and the upper end had melted air filter all over. I spent 2 or 3 hours taking it completely apart then cleaning every bit of it. I then put it back together and put some oil in it to hopefully not fry the bearings when I started it again. The good news is that it runs again... the bad news is that it smokes and does not sound good... I may soak it in P&B to see if that will fix everything.

I only found two .5inch chunks of air filter that was not melted or turned into bits. UGH why is everything breaking on me?
