Yeah... great "Day" for celebrating a 4.5 Billion year old planet.

So... should we not celebrate it because some loon was born on this day? I doubt many people even KNOW that (heck, it's the first time I've even heard his name), and it certainly isn't related in any way.

As for the 'tree huggers' comment; what's your problem? I don't particularly like seeing trash on the pavement or in the park when I go for a walk either, I'm not about to go chain myself to a tree but I certainly think the people who do have fair reason (even if most of this global warming is hyped up bullshit).

Earth day is about one of the only holidays that isn't "sold" to people, at least where I live. There's a couple of smaller foundations which support this kind of thing, and a clean up; what's wrong with that?

You, my friend, come off as someone who simply wishes to bag out something for no good reason.

I guess I've had it forced down my throat so often since Earth Day began I'm just burned out.

I'm sure that everyone has at least one 'holiday' they can't stand, and there's nothing wrong with that... but, there's no need to shove bitterness down the throats of those that DO enjoy it.
