ABbA Update for this weekend
Again, I doubt there will be a chapter for this weekend. I'll try, though. I'm still trying to re-organise my chapter notes. This has to be the most difficult set of chapter notes I've ever had. It's so scattered!
Also, I just received "The Blackest Streets" by Sarah Wise, which is the last book I have yet to read on the Old Nichol slum, which we're coming up on in chapter 8. This book completely turned my view of the Nichol upside-down. It is completely unbiased and so full of information that it is almost overwhelming to me. The Nichol is so important to me (I'm happy to hear that Londoners actually did start calling it "the Jago" after Morrison's book...haha) and I want to represent it accurately. I think what I am reading will actually support my own story better, so that is all well and good.
Moreover, I've noticed there is too little of Amelie and Finley and too much of the Deerings as the story progresses. Probably because the Deerings are so fun to write about, but I need to balance this. I'll have to bring the two sides even closer together then. Mix them together more. Amelie is fascinated by the Deerings, so that will be easy on her part. Finley, not so much.
It's hard to think exactly how to handle this. Oh well. I'll figure it out. I always do.
I'll post a full journal about this on my LJ.
