Just upgraded the CPU on my fiancee's laptop. Had to take the entire thing apart to get to the little bugger, took two hours, but I got it back together and didn't even have a screw left over.
Best part is how happy he is. Went from an AMD Athlon™ 64 Single-Core TF-20 @ 1.6 GHz to a AMD Turion™ 64 X2 Dual-Core Mobile Technology TL-58 1.9 GHz. Bit of a step up. Now I just need to get him four gigs of fast ram...

wonder if my IBMG40 could get a tiny bit of a boost likely too old....
When we decided to upgrade the thing, I just went online and searched for the fastest chip I could find people being successful installing. I was only looking at GHz, and figured 300 MHz was probably worth the $40. Surprise! There's a much bigger performance boost!
