Cats, Banners, etc...

Well, what a day...and it started about 18 hours ago.
Those of you who follow me on Twitter know already about this, but last night at about 11pm, my sister called me frantically.
...she saw a mouse.
-___-;
I thought she was calling because she needed my cat so I idly offered him to her, sort of jokingly. She said, "OH THAT'S RIGHT! YES! CAN YOU BRING HIM OVER!??" ...I said no. There was no way that I was gonna lug my 3,000 lb. cat, his litter, litter box and food out to the island of Manhattan at that hour. She kept asking and asking, but I had to put my foot down and just say no.
After suggesting that she just go get a sticky mouse trap, I, again in my sleepy stupor, suggested that she just take in one of the millions and millions of strays in the neighborhood. Some were even abandoned by previous owners. ...once again, she took my advice and went searching for one of the colony cats. She found one right away, but he wasn't interested in the job.
Long story short, she came out to my house and retrieved my cat. It was weird waking up this morning and not having him in the house.
This is the second relative to call me asking to borrow my cat for the purposes of rodent roundup. I don't mind as long as they pick him up and bring him back. As for Azul, he doesn't seem to mind, either.
*stretches*
It's just as well. The exterminator came back today to turn my house into Chem City. Even I had to leave the house for a few hours after she worked. Needless to say I'm back home, now...but a little hesitant to go into my chemical coated room!
Anyhoo. I had planned to work on a banner for my table at the conventions today, but I didn't get the chance. I can use my Plum banner from last year, but I realized last year that I didn't actually put my name on that banner, so people had to ask who I was! This time, I think I'll use Mint from the Sweet Shoppe cover art, REMEMBER to put my name on the piece and thus make sure people know it's my table ...hmm...the question, though, is do I follow the same vein and have her nude the way Plum was, or just keep her in the bikini she has on on the cover of the comic. Hmm....

And two times already! You should start charging money for it! Although, on the other hand, then you might need to register your cat with the IRS for having his own income as a Rodent Control Officer or something...
*chuckles*
As for your banner, it sounds like a good idea to use the cover art you drew with Mint! Most people have seen you post that here already, and it has your watermark on it as well, so they will know it's you. Of course, putting your name on it good and visibly always helps! I would definitely go with her in the bikini she is already wearing on the cover art, though. For one, it's recognizable, and for another, Mint would probably fume at you for putting her naked in front of a couple hundred of people!
Well, I just finished the banner and I did decide to go with the bikini shot. My name is definitely there, this time, so there shouldn't be any confusion! Thanks a bunch!
*giggles*
And you're so welcome! I'm sure everything will work out just spiffy for you at both conventions, and now you don't have to worry about Mint killing you or at least being really upset with you for showing her off naked in public!
*giggles*
You know, the stupidest thing about it is... I miss it now that he's no longer here!
*giggles and hugs*
Is he still at your sister's, earning his keep as Rodent Control Officer?
Well, in all honesty... if I were a mouse and the lady of the house I'd invaded suddenly brings in a 3000 lb cat, I would hide too!
Just for the sake of being me, I'd say bikini. Never hurts to tease =P And lol at the cat, I'd be loving it too, if I were him XD
As for the mouse, I hope your sister will reconsider against the use of sticky traps because of how inhumane they are. The mouse either is stuck there until he/she starves to death, or the human tries to pull the mouse off the trap and ends up literally ripping the mouse in half. A spring snap trap may mean death as well but at least it's instantaneous. A better option is the trap-door live traps that allow the release of the mouse outside somewhere away from the house.
Hmm...you know, I thought sticky traps were the humane ones since the snap traps harm the mouse, but don't always instantly kill it! ...of course, I could be totally wrong I'll see if she would look into the trap-door trap, but since she's scared of them, I doubt she'll be in favor of trap and release Thanks, though, for the suggestion. I'll pass the information along all the same
Yep, 3000 pounds when in a carrier--more if they keep moving while you're carrying them!
Ironically, for having a cat fursona, I've developed a bit of an allergy to them the older I get. Never had it as a kid (we owned a cat once when I was like 5 or something named Snowball).
My loafcat can actually catch a mouse when the situation arises (only once since I've had the kitty). Sounds like Azul is a champion mouser himself.
I think Mint is an excellent choice, no matter how you show her.
As a side note, where do you get your banners printed? Or do you do 'em yourself?
Great! I went ahead and used Mint for my piece, I just need my friend to print it up. At my old job, I could use the large printer to print banners, but, since I'm not there anymore, I have to rely on a friend to handle the job for me
Well, you know my opinion on your 'safe nudes'. So I'd say go for it. But I do want a print of that later if you do that
Though on the other hand, showing the nekkid Mint on the banner but the bikini mint on the cover, may seem confsung. Ppl not in the know might expect more nudity inside the comic or something.
Azul is fine. Before I took him, he was my sister's cat, anyway, so he's familiar with her. He's not the type to run away. I can open the door wide open and he MAY venture a peek, but he quickly ducks into the house, running for cover. He's not an outdoor cat and he's well aware of it. I have no concern about him "making a break for it".
Look out - CATS AT WORK! -
