On a non-panties related commentary; I can see where Andy is coming from. So far i haven't used it as a whine box, but I am using it for my borderline narcissistic pleasures. Or for advertising things that really don't apply to 90% of those in my watch list, but its better to shotgun blast ads then just using a single dart.

It would be nice to see an option to exclude journal bumps from certain folks you do not wish to read things from. Seems like it should be a simple toggle code.

I don't mind the occasional emo journal, or people talking about their lives and everyday occurrences. What I mind, and what makes me unwatch people, is where every journal is a cryptic whine, like "I feel so black. Why does it have to be like this every day?" When I literally click the "journals" tab in someone's page and I get 50 journals about that, I decide it's time to unwatch. XD Or when someone has two journals in a row, the first of which is "Gosh guys, I got burnt out but can't refund your $2,000 in commissions because I spent the money on bills" followed closely by "Hey guys, I bought this $300 dildo and 5 $40 shirts from walmart, life rocks!"

This is about as emo or dramatic as MY journals ever get on FA. Since I switched to LJ for that sort of stuff (and even there I'm not very emo, or try not to be) I realized how much more appropriate whining is to friends who WANT to read it, than the internet world just so you can get some e-pats on your e-back.

And what exactly will a $300 dildo do for you anyway? At that price, I'm wanting some guaranteed fireworks.

I swear that is how a lot of them are. They make just enough sense to be full sentences, but are otherwise so cryptic that I can hardly tell if the people are sad or talking about the weather. XD

I stopped paying attention to journals and decide to un-watch based on the art being produced. occasionally I'll scroll down the hundreds of amassed journals in my inbox and find one or two that I might actually give two drops for, usually because its by a favored artist or friend.

I agree completely though, lets have a few filtering capabilities for pete' sake

Yeah, I used to do that until I realized that some people post really engaging journals or really great commission deals. So now if I get tired of someone I go to their front page and play the "Is their art worth being constantly annoyed by their whining?" game, which they usually lose, and unwatch from there.
