When did furpile well become? Or when did this site launch, it's not the first I've heard of it, as other artists are complaining about their work being reuploaded without their consent.
I check FurPiled every week or so; it's a nice way to check for new artists, because the 'recently submitted' thing on FA is a fucking crapshoot. You only get to see a limited amount of submissions and I really don't feel like F5ing every few seconds all day long here; I'd rather browse leisurely through a couple hundred submissions, then check out the artists here.
We really don't have any problem removing stuff, we only request a DMCA to prove that the person who request that is the real copyright holder and not someone else...
But some people really get pissed when you request that...and make titles likes "http://www.furaffinity.net/journal/1485506/" which is really unnecessary...and they only get what they deserve...
Since all images reposted have back links to the owners gallery and we encourage the users of furpiled to watch the artist on his respectively websites.
You cannot seriously have doubt that Moodyferret is the owner if her artwork, sorry. That being the case, asking her to fill out a form for each piece is just you being a dick.
The content is for public domain when it gets posted for free. And it says the Copyright law.
And also i dont post the images, any registered user can post what they want. The should request the permisssion to the artist since we cannot, because is impossbile, see any imagen, check who is the artist and contact the artis for a permisssion for someone else actions.
I dunno, I have to stand by Pheonix-D's statement there, the artist shouldn't have to need to fill out a form like that, just like if you see the journal here, its VERY obvious that it's the creator of the art work and they might not want it posted elsewhere on the net.
if i post art for free i still retain all rights to it unless i explicitly revoke them. among these rights is that of controlling its distribution. one is perfectly within their rights to say "this image may only be shown on sites x, y, and z" for instance.
and most sites that let users post other people's art also maintain a "do not post" list. some of them word it politely, others don't. when the admins see stuff posted on the dnp list, they delete it. really. do you want to get the law involved in your furry porn site? life's a lot easier if you realize that some people want to have control over their intellectual property and try to accommodate this desire, no matter how silly you may think it is, and deal with it before people bring in the lawyers.
there is a world of difference between "public domain" and "available free of charge", and if seinkraft is going to invoke "public domain" as reasoning for letting people post whatever they want on her site, she should learn what actually qualifies material for being in the public domain. (hint: nothing whose artist is still alive, and nothing made in the united states after the release of disney's "steamboat willy". unless it's been explicitly declared pd.)
i personally don't care if people are reposting my stuff but i respect the rights of my fellow artists to control the distribution of their work - it's nice to see what people are saying about it!
I don't know offhand exactly what the law says about this, but I tend to consider my stuff to be public domain anyway. I draw for the fun of it, not for profit. If anyone wants to repost, rework or redraw my stuff, well, awesome! I'm glad to have inspired someone.
I think the simplest way would be that if you get a complaint about posting someone's art, you contact them through the places they upload their art to ensure that they really don't want it posted
I can understand wanting proof that they're really the artist, since someone could just send an email posing as a particular person, but after a certain point it's just common sense and it should be taken down/left there simply on principle
Pissing off people because they don't want to jump through your hoops is bad public relations
That shows submissions back as far as you want to go.

We're really glad with this journal.
2. As of right now, it isn't:
Seinkraft is not a fine upstanding member of the community
Or you respect the artist and the law in the first place and don't post stuff you don't have permission to post.
