I was trolling (as in to circulate/move around, not make an ass of myself) around on the internet a couple of days ago, as I often do, when I stumbled upon this "gem" on Google news. http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/artic.....BAHO1E0CIM.DTL
Apparently, Prop 8 proponents are now shooting for the "Marriage promotes reproduction, and since them thar queerosexuals can't reproduce anyhows, they don't need no marriage" angle. There were so many flaws in their arguments that it was mind boggling. If they can come up with such convoluted logic on an issue such as marriage, imagine what they do in their everyday lives. So, should people that are sterile not be allowed to marry? How about people over the age of 60, should their marriages be voided because they can't have kids anymore? Oh, or how about the people that choose not to have children? No marriage for them, right!? People have been having children outside of wedlock for eons, long before there was even a concept of wedlock (which by the way, the Christians did NOT invent, despite what they'd like everyone to think), and they will continue to do so for Eons into the future, if we as a species last that long. Marriage has NEVER been solely about reproduction unless you're Mormon. Before the church wormed it's way into the practice, marriage was very much a political thing for those ancient people who could actually afford to do it. It was a way to form alliances, and transfer wealth and or power. These things were arranged and often there was little love involved in the whole process. So marriage has changed A LOT over the centuries, as it should, and it will continue to do so regardless of the desires of fundamentalist retards.
Honestly, I had completely forgotten about the whole Prop 8 scandal until I chanced upon this kernel of retardation. I'd already shrugged my shoulders and consigned California to being devoured by either the ocean or the San Andreas Fault, but they keep pulling me back in!

I know, right!? I've not heard about the Netherlands, Belgium, Spain, Canada, South Africa, Norway, Sweden, Portugal or Iceland become deserted no-mans land because they allowed those evil fags to get married!
