I just got back from role-call, and I feel obligated to report the newest development in the decline of humanity to you all.
Hip-hop Gumby.
A guy at role-call was wearing a t-shirt featuring Gumby, turned into a stereotypical hip-hop degenerate: he was turned black (not that that's a bad thing in and of itself), dressed in extremely baggy clothes, and wearing more gold chains than you'll probably find in Fort Knox.
I gotta be honest people, right now I feel ashamed to be human. Seriously.

Okay, I don't really wanna say this, but my roommate is an idiot, it's the simple truth. I like him, but he's a fool with his stuff and his choice of friends.
He has an ethernet switch, which functions like a router, except that a router just throws bandwidth to whoever requests it, where a switch divides the total available bandwidth and distributes it equally amongst all clients. He also has a mooch, which is like a friend, except a friend gives shit back when you want it back, wheras a mooch smuggles your shit off center and pisses away with it on WoW or some shit while you're left trying to ignore angry roommates that could have used that connection to get in contact with the friends they left behind!
For fuck's sake... Getting internet shouldn't be this infuriating...

I forgot to mention! The kitchen, which used to have four shifts when I first got accepted, and went to three shifts last year, goes back to four shifts starting Monday next week! Details on the shift schedules are as follows:
OLD SCHEDULE:
Early A.M. (5:00 A.M. - 3:45 P.M.) [10 3/4 hours]
A.M. (6:00 A.M. - 3:45 P.M.) [9 3/4 hours]
P.M. (9:00 A.M. - 7:00 P.M.) [10 hours]
Classroom (8:00 A.M. - 3:45 P.M.) [7 3/4 hours]
CURRENT SCHEDULE
A.M. (5:00 A.M. - 3:45 P.M.) [10 3/4 hours]
P.M. (9:00 A.M. - 7:00 P.M.) [10 hours]
Classroom (8:00 A.M. - 3:45 P.M.) [7 3/4 hours]
NEW SCHEDULE
A.M. (5:00 A.M. - 3:45 P.M.) [10 3/4 hours]
P.M. (9:00 A.M. - 7:00 P.M.) [10 hours]
Classroom (8:00 A.M. - 3:45 P.M.) [7 3/4 hours]
Storeroom (8:00 A.M. - 3:45 P.M.) [7 3/4 hours]
There are only two people working in the storeroom: me and Shawn, and those are permanent positions. Staff is also very stubborn about changing the schedule around... If this means what I think it means, I get the full alotted schedule for sleep PLUS the full alotted schedule for free time PERMANENTLY UNTIL I LEAVE IN AUGUST!
I am damned well pleased with this situation right about now.

Last night was awesome! No, seriously: Last night was AWESOME! Only two things happened, but they constitute awesomeness by themselves, and constitute it quite thoroughly.
First: room change of awesome. My old B-Bed roommate, who shares my first name (Which isn't Dante, just so anyone out of the loop here knows), happily shifted his homophobic ass out of our room, trading places with the president of the Anime club (the only extracurricular group on center that I have anything to do with at the moment). This is awesome on three levels, one being that our old B-Bed was horrible at cleaning things and never even gave a damn, two being that he wouldn't stop playing fucking RAP on his phone, and three being he was a homophobic fucktard that wouldn't refused to view homosexuality as an acceptable and widely-practiced lifestyle. Our new roommate is a nice enough guy so far; I don't have any issues with him (unless you count the fact that he insists on watching his anime in English-subtitled Japanese, where I VERY much prefer to watch my anime in just plain English. When I watch anime, I want to WATCH anime, not READ anime.)
Second: my mom called me last night and gave me some stunning news.
Lemme start from square one here: my mom's getting married on the 28th of August (thank god I get out of Job Corps permanently on the 25th!), and she's got a catering service delivering her cake. On the day of the wedding however, it seems that all of Rebecca's (the woman catering the event) employees are busy elsewhere. As a result of this, my mom offered me up to Rebecca as a helping hand. Rebecca saw mom's bet and raised, changing the situation into something potentially more permanent.
This saturday, Rebecca expects me to come home and give her a hand catering somewhere called the "Rose Room", which my mom gathers to be something quite high-end. This will be a hands-on interview.
