Hey solitude can be a good thing

telvista has about 1 month training and then you hit the floor. At least that's how it was when I was there.

It's a month of training? It was 2 weeks of training when I was there then another week when I joined the Mentor team. I never got any training on Macintosh troubleshooting but I ended up supporting all platforms at a much higher level than the front line as soon as I joined the Mentor team.

I was originally with dsl, then I went to fios Tier 2. then I went to fios mentor tier 3. no training for the last transition.

I left Telvista after about 2 years and got a 50% raise doing pretty much the same thing elsewhere. :)

I still remember when most of the DSL mentor team walked out. Everyone with at least 1 year of experience on the mentor team left within a short period of time. I was one of the last to move to a different company.

yeah, when I left so did 90% of the rest of the fios mentor team.

They never learned after the first mass exodus. Let me guess they kept making you do the work of every other department as well as your own and made the job nearly impossible like they did to the DSL mentor team?

the thing that finally made us leave was when they made the mentor team take front line calls when the queue got backed up and then bitched at us for taking 10 to 15 minutes to answer legitimate mentor escalations.

You're lucky that is all they did. They made us handle the supervisor escalation line without any instructions on how they handle things along with supporting the India agents both through chat and phone which forced us to handle 3 issues at one time and the India agents were BAD. They also decided to make us handle front line calls whenever they felt like it. The average handle time for the front line was about 13 minutes and the average handle time for the supervisor escalation line was about 18 minutes. They wanted us to have an average handle time of 7 minutes while handling 3 issues at once and doing the work of every other department as well as our own. While they were slowly pushing that junk onto us that is when the members of the mentor team started leaving the company. In a short amount of time most of the mentor team was gone. I guess it took them a couple mass exoduses to finally learn that if they force the mentor team to do that then they will leave the company. Right now they are VERY desperate to hire more people for the front line. They have been for the last year. Also they paid those on the supervisor escalation line more than they did us on the mentor team as well.
