So I'm doing this art trade with a friend of mine, and I've been doing sketches for...um...a while now. I've been mixing it in with other stuff, so it's not like I've been focused. But DAMN, I did not think it would be that hard to draw John Simm. The man is maniacally difficult, I swear it.
The Doctor? I've got him down ok, just some brushig up to do to make sure I can do it later, without reference.
Martha Jones? Three sketches and I got her down (plus I have a Who magazine that has pictures of her if I need references later)
Lucy (intheskywithdiamonds)? There was only one photo of her readily accessible via search engines, so I used that and made damn sure it was a good sketch.
John Simm (whose character name I won't mention so I don't spoil any potential Who fans for the end of the season)? A bitch. Damn his eyes!
Yeah, anyway. The trade prompt I was given was 'Voodoo Child' (those who have seen Sound of Drums know why) (fandom Doctor Who) and i'ts great fun except for this Simm thing. I'm planning on doing a watercolor diptych. Dyptich? Which way do the vowels go? I need to stop posting things late at night, it messes with my mind. ANYWAY. It's going to be good, too.
This post is also to say: I'm open to trades. In fact, I welcome them. All kinds, all sorts. Yess....Although, to kick things off, I suppose I really should be coming out of my shell and asking people to do trades. I'm such a damn coward about some things.
