It has come to my attention....

That apparently one of my commissioners has gotten tired of waiting, and instead of just talking to me, wrote this:

That hurts, alot. But... yes there is truth to it... I DO take a long time.... and, as i have in MANY previous journals.... I apologize for taking so long to those i still owe.
You know that i am working on them, and have not forgotten those i owe.
To those of you who are content to remain patient with me, I thank you and I will have them done as soon as i am capable.
To those of you who share this person's feelings and are tired of waiting. I understand, and you have my apologies and thanks for commissioning me in the first place. I am happy to change the commission if you'd prefer something new, or refund you in full if that's what you'd like.
I have tried my best to be as open and honest with my commissioners as i can, and aside from being slow, if i have failed any of you, I'm am truly sorry. I hold no grudges to those that would prefer to be refunded.
Thank you again for commissioning me at all, and for those still content to wait, you will have your art as soon as i can finish them!

Well, in all honesty, I personally don't mind waiting for a commission if it takes a while. As long as the artist doesn't take my money, vanish, and leave me high and dry with no way to contact them.
Was this commissioner aware of how you conduct business? Have you stated anywhere that you may take a while to finish their commissions? If so, then it's their fault for commissioning you without reading further into you and how you handle your commissions.
If this person hasn't contacted you for a friendly poke every now and then to see whether or not their commission is being worked on, what the status is, etc, that that's their fault. How were you supposed to know if they weren't satisfied or content with the length of time they've been waiting if they never bothered to get in contact with you? I definitely think that said commissioner should have at least attempted to get ahold of you and see where things were going before going and posting in a community about how "poor your service is".
On that note, yes... i have stated many times that my life is hectic and i DO take a long time... sometimes a VERY long time. But I always give people the option for a refund or to change their commission if they choose. And yes, she HAS poked me, and I've always responded and updated her when i could... so... *shrugs weak*
I totally agree with him on that. =/
Don't let it get to you. That dude is just being a jerk.
sounds like someone needs to take a chill pill....
Love you Spence! :D
For every 10 nice person there's a real douchebag. I hope you can understand that we're all not like that person. If you are upfront about your turn-around times then that's how it goes.
I am a graphic designer, and I spend a lot of time working with on-demand printers. Especially for large pieces, there are some really high quality places that take a long time to turn around. That's just how it goes. If you can't wait for the good stuff, the low quality shit is right around the corner and can be made that day if you like. It'll just look like crap.
You're a high quality artist, if people have to wait for their art, then so be it.
And I DO try to produce the best work I can... so I take extra time on each... but... maybe I should just get them done and over with.... it seems to be causing more harm then good trying to put the effort in.
I think I'll be devoting myself to prints from now on....
Honestly if someone commissions you they should be patient, and also read your journals for updates. If you update and apologies for your life being hectic and not being able to get commissions done, then it's the person who commissioned you's fault for doing it in the first place. Also, not a lot of artists wear their flaws on their sleeve. I'm NOT going to preach everywhere that I'm a slow artist, and you shouldn't have to. Artists are not work horses, and if they're slow then it's your own damn fault for commissioning them in the first place.
...
Woah that went off into a rant, I apologize. In any case, don't let this douche bring you down.
However, I've had the issue with other artists, and I admit it can be rather tiring. I won't start giving artists bad publicity on a public website unless they've pulled some real shitty tricks though.
