1) so far the new layout is quite good. im getting used to it and i like it.
2) i love them both, but i would say im in more of a cake mood then a pie mood.
3) i dont quite understand this one but i think i know what your on about...i would say yes i have. a friend that i told i had deep feelings for, after that we where never quite the same. i miss his friendship.

5) its kinda a small fear that after the single player thing i dont think im going to go online with it. i wasnt a huge fan of the online of SC1 online play. there was no way to play with crappy players like me when starting out :P unless they fixed that?

as for sc2 there is a "practice league" that literally matches you up with beginners; then there are multiple divisions from bronze to platinum to diamond. the matching is designed to give you a 50-50 win/loss so if you're winning constantly you will be matched against harder opponents (or simply advance through the ranks) whereas if you lose a lot it will match you against weaker opponents to create a more fair match-up. No worries there.

However setting aside multi-player ladder the custom games will be even bigger and more promising than WC3, and with a little time we'll see some amazing custom games that, by themselves, are worth the $60. Not to mention the campaign has tons of content and has more play-time than most single-player games for PC or console within the last several years. Realistically, considering Single Player isn't even SC2's main feature, that's pretty damn amazing.

I'm not attempting to sell the game, but I hope I am clearing up some misconceptions. If you don't like RTS or the custom games that it may bring then SC2 might not be you're thing. You can probably wait a few months until all the map-developers have had their time to pump out some quality maps before buying the game, if you'd like. Play it on a friend's account or something -- check it out first.

now the custom games does sound like fun! and i know you of all ppl will be working hard on that =D and from the last modded games i play that you made i had tons of fun with! so who knows, i might just get it to see what games you make =3

the custom ladder does sound like a step in the right direction. cuz that was the big sell for me about LoL over HoN. i hated seeing game names like "no noobs" or "only pro players" and there is no gap in the middle of the 2! where as LoL will match me up based on who i win vs who i lose to. and then it settles me right where i need to be. and if they have done something like that then i might pick it up!

do you also know if they do 1v1s? or is the game balanced for 3v3 games?

Starcraft is balanced for, and only for 1v1's. Everything else is generally considered a "for fun" mode. I've had an absolute blast doing 4v4's with friends though; it's a totally different game, though. I'd say 1v1s are more like real-time chess, 4v4s are like bumper cars. They've both got their ups and downs, and both are fun at the right times.
